You know money has been around for a while and its not terribly complicated to understand. The key element is trust, esa, si trust is the majic behind all this. That was true when money came to us in many ways, for example, a piece of metal that you could bite and bounce on your head, but now our barrio faces money in a whole different way. Today el barrio must have faith in money not just because we all need it, no we must have faith in money because it s just a piece of paper that comes in a plastic form, so today’s money is nothing but trust. Increase number of seeing dogs at young baseball program.

Ten parents honor at mid season celebrations.

And finally a lift on chasing foul balls till the end of the season.

After a few years not allowing folks to chase foul balls, the league last night lifted the ban and will allow parents, and children to chase them foul balls. The only reason is because the league decided to stop awarding snow cones to those that brought the foul ball back. Instead the league has agreed to award free big hugs from the umpires as an award to those that bring back them foul balls.

Last night ten parents were honor on how great they were as parents so far compared to last year. It seems que these ten parents were ban from attending any games due to their poor sportsmanship and actions they took on other parents, teams, and umpires. Many of the folks that attending the ceremonies were very impress with them now and hoping que the can remain stable till the end of the season.

Yesterday the local barrio youth baseball league approved a measure that would allow blind umpires to use their eye seeing dog as an extra umpire. After a bitter debate about the number of bad calls made this season que the league has agreed to let umpires bring their aids with them and hopefully finished the season without any more incidents.

Who needs bad news when we got good news?

City unemployed residents file complaint con city about nonpayment.

And finally, happy trails to you.

This morning a group of barrio members teamed up their wagons and horses and prepared themselves for a trial ride this month. The purpose of this trail ride is to demonstrate que regardless of high gas prices; you can always ride your horse or wagon.  The city has not been made aware que this trail ride will only be traveling inside the hood and nowhere else. We can’t wait to hear from them says one of the trail riders.

Can you believe our city leaders took advantage of our large amount of employed residents and some barrio members by offering them several jobs during this past queen fest? Many of the unemployed were really folks from across the tracks and very little barrio members were affected by this poor discussion made in hiring the unemployed. Barrio leaders were proud to have provided at least 20 barrio members that got paid and were not too concern con the 120 other city resident that also got hired but not paid.  The city and their leaders from across the tracks will discuss this matter as to why some many from this side didn’t get paid and the other from that side did? Pesse hejola.

Yesterday was a very exciting day for our hood, with all the festivities going what else could anyone ask for? Well since I asked, several barrio members were not too excited about this queen thing and most important who was going to pay for it? The city and barrio leaders will meet to discuss how to pay for all the things that barrio sponsors didn’t provide.

This week our creator has assigned me to Bishop, texas to interview a good friend. So this week I am going to walk to bishop along the rail road tracks to meet up con Lazaro at the city park .. now that interview. Sc; hello lazaro como esta, say can you rub that big toe for me? Lp: of course NOT CECILIA  I  have a girlfriend .. que tienes lol SC: tell us a little bit about yourself and your band? Lp; pos lazaro perez y su conjunto have been around for about 5 yrs now and we just released our 5th album under canasta records. we have been blessed with great prosperity and have been traveling alot performing all over texas and mexico. SC: when you were growing up did you listen to Tejano music and who were your hero’s? Lp; yes i did .. my grandfather played accordion as well and so he was one of my hero’s that brought me up in the tejano/conjunto music scene SC: how difficult is it signing a recording contract? Lp: at first it is a little hesitant in really knowing what u want but it’s a big risk u take and thanks to god we have been blessed with something very special. SC: how much does your band travel during the year and how hard is it on personal life? Lp: we have traveling lots this past yr. and this yr. whether it be holidays or just family time giving up, its hard because  to us family is number one but business is business and we have to cumplir. Sc: what other artist have you performed and recorded with? Lp: we have performed with many artists such as los dos gilbertos, hometown boys, michael salgado, massore and many more. Sc: do you think a band needs to have a good manager? Lp; I think its very important because everything is dependent on the manager. without a good manager there wouldnt be gigs, there wouldnt be promotion, or there wont be anyway to get the band out there to get known. Sc; I notice that you are a very young good looking man, do you have lots of women fans? Lp; hahaha there are fans everywhere but i do my job and that’s it. Sc: sure big boy, I notice that you are really involved with your community, I think you coach a young baseball team, tell a little bit about that? Lp; yes I’m about to graduate from TAMUK with a degree in kinesiology so i put my knowledge and education to use and coach a little league coach pitch team in bishop called the Yankees. Sc: if you were asked to speak to a group of young people, what encouraging words would you say? Lp: to always strive for your goals and never give up because if the hard work is put into it, the goal will ALWAYS be accomplished. Sc: very well said, what is in the future for Lazaro Perez? Lp; pos only god knows that answer but we hope to prosper more than ever and keep our music going for our fans. SC: and finally, is there anything you would like to share with your fans from around the world? LP: just a big thank you for all the support they have given us wherever they are. Kingsville, TX. Hi bill Diaz, back and ready to go. This past weekend I was assigned to do a special report on the events surrounding the queen. Now we are referring to the queen of the hood and not that other queen from across the ocean. Now with that in mind here is our award winning barrio headline news dealing with honoring the queen.

Barrio Queen Pageant ends with three wieners.

And finally, Barrio Wieners make big butt impact.

very proud in hosting this year’s event and hoping

The 5k Wiener Queen fun run finally found a route that wouldn’t put runners in harm’s way. This year’s fun run had about 3 runners, 25 walkers, 12 dogs, and 100 folks dress like wieners all finished the run and in good spirit. The top three winners from the ten divisions all received two packages of barrio Q Wieners, a trophy and a t-shirts stating “ I with this Wiener 2012  5K fun run”.

The annual Wiener Queen fest went off with a great start till the time came to pick a winner. The winner of this year’s Wiener Queen Fest was based on the wieners guidelines, which required all contestants to be dress like a wiener. All entrees to this Wiener Queen contest had to design their own wiener outfit and the closes one looking like a wiener would win the contest. But when the officials saw that there were at least 85 contestants register for the contest, they decided to pick three winners to this year’s Wiener Queen Contest. One of the judges told us que this year’s selection was more difficult than his last marriage.  The winners were not announced, but plan to.

And finally, barrio gearing up for 4 of July fest.

Well after last week’s report that let me put the finger on you committee had requested the city to purchase 20,ooo gallons of red, white, and blue paint to remodel the Westside. Well this weekend the city send the committee a letter and very briefly too the committee que they were full of chit and there was no freaking way it was going to spend a half of million dollars for some bullshit idea.

Well it finally happen, chicano park here in the hood, which holds around a few hundred different kind of wild birds, made a run for it when they tried to cross the express way just outside the hood. Most of the birds made it but we are very sad to say que some didn’t. el constable told us que both handful of them birds made it to the other side and a bunch just didn’t. sad day for the chicano park.

Yesterday at a town hall meeting lots of members of the press and barrio were concern que we here and your there should be using other news clippings to make our hood look better. But Bill Diaz who attended the meeting and el chingo here told the concern group, que many news services about el barrio are not using actually things that are happening here in the hood but news about somewhere else. Diaz, told the group que many are just coping and pasting stuff from other website to make them look like barrio news. We here do try real hard in providing real news and not paste and add like others do.
