It’s funny our friend bill Diaz reported some time ago que todo el hood was real excited con esta cosa called spring break. Pesse why not, look the kids are home, el tiyo worked a few days at school and has the rest of the week off cause of spring break. So it’s easy to say que todos on spring break regardless of what bill says. So raza go spend money but save some for Easter. Now con our award winning barrio stock market report for the week of 03092007.

Los Tamales:

Los tamales have remained stable all this week. Since el tamale guy tells us que los tamales are getting real expensive in making and the profit margin is real low. Chinga man you walk around town sir. Anyhow los tamales ended the week at $6.50 a dozen, up $.50 from last week.

Los taquitos:

It’s good to know que many small restaurants or taco stands didn’t close as many as we had estimated last year at the same time.  But a few barrio restaurants did close this week. In a way it’s good for all of us to take a break and go across the railroad tracks for breakfast or lunch once awhile... Let us remember que we are the backbone of your hood and don’t forget to buy in the hood. If we don’t look around and see what is happening to our hood, why don’t you. Los taquitos ended the week at $1.20 cents each. A cup of coffee is extra.

Las empanadas:

“The empanada war 2006” of last year did wonders to all las empanada makers. We did send them a message when we boycotted them last year for awhile. We demanded and got more filling in them, it was a great victory for all the empanada eaters. Next time you take a bit out of one and that filling just pops out remember us. Las empanadas ended the week at $.89 cent each.

Cheap beer:

Besides almost getting run over by a beer truck a few days ago, we able to report that sorry ass truck driver but the company didn’t believe us... so we have decided this and this week only to drink an expensive beer just for the hell of it .  Cheap beer ended the week at $2.98 a six pack.

Las tortillas:

Las tortillas have come a long way since this past sept.  We felt que too many tortillas were just too stuck to each other. We did win that victory and hope que this tortilla companies listen to us more often. Las tortillas ended the week at $.89 to $1.50 a dozen.

And finally la Baracoa:

Now the real challenge for 2007 is for la raza que have invested en on llamas production had some good news this weekend. They plan on having llama meat on sale start this coming may, sooner than planned. That should really put the beef market on its toes. La Baracoa ended the week at its lowest in years$5.50 a lb.
