barrio stock market report for 03062015

barrio stock market report for 03062015.

Kingsville,tx.

LA GRINGA NOVELA, IT’S LIKE FOR REAL, AND YOU THINK YOU SEEN AND HEARD EVERYTHING, WRITTEN BY A GRINGA FOR THOSE WANT TO BE GRINGAS COMING ON MARCH 16. Six episodes of drama and excitement.

Now from that storage office at the Westinghouse barrio mall here is our man con all the answers to your barrio investments, and mucho mass here is urbano yosabatodo.
Como estan todos? As we approach the end of the first quarter of the year, things really haven’t been that bad. Besides the gas decrease and now a slight increase, and the IRS looking for me, and two car payments behind, one-month rent and breaking that lent promies in less than 24 hours.

Shoot things could be a bit worse. Like we have said many times before, hey what is life all about you ask, It’s all about owe money to other people. You know in Spanish we have a saying that says without debts we wouldn’t have anything. Well let’s use that slogan as our policy for the rest of the year.
Now let’s talk about the barrio stock market.

Los taquitos, for the end of this quarter los taquitos are the leading contenders for this year’s best investment. Since many have readied our report and have decided to start buy more taquitos than to make then at home. Like we reported several weeks ago que we need to spend more money in small hood restaurants, just to keep them afloat. Los taquitos remain stable at $ 1.25 each. Of course a big city will offer you twice as much but not as good, huh?

Las tortillas, a brand new tortilla brand hit the local stores and the hood this week. The company Las Tortillas De Hood, is own and operated and is an Internet-based, consumer marketplace, licenses factory, and also provides consumer contents published for your convinces by some shady rear end folk. Their representive stopped by the last week, named John homes. Up to now we have not been able to locate the company on the net but he did give us some free packages of tortillas just last week.

We here and you there, are also here to serve you as a consumer advocate and feel que we need to keep track of all those that come into the hood and try to sell stuff that we don’t need or meet our quality of standards. And folks this new company does not do that for us, and we have tried their tortillas, and rated them poorly on this product. Them tortillas stick like cake and when you heated them up, my god they grew twice as big. Las tortillas took a dive with this new company under price their product by .50 cent a dozen. Out doing all the rest at the end of this quarter. Tortillas ended the week at $1.25 per package.

Las empanadas, Represents the change from one year to the next in their product. It seems que many empanada companies have including but not limited to the decrease the filling in them. Yet, many companies have increase in inventories and have had an increase in accrued sales and huge increase in accruals as reported in the cash flow statement found in many company’s trash cans that we scout. What does this mean? Que estos pincha vatos are selling more con less filling inside de las empanadas. The price went up this week at .65 cents each. Again we will never ever again see them at four for a dollar.

Los tamales, wow what can I say, like we say they are not a seasonal thing anymore and now con esta cold weather, Sell me a dozen to go. What can I say about tamales, only that they are packets of corn dough with a savory or sweet filling and typically wrapped in cornhusks? The packets are steamed and eaten traditionally served with a tall glass of cold beer. Many consumers have complaint to us que on the contrary to what is found in most American-Mexican restaurants, most tamale are not served with a sauce, but rather simple and plain. Yes sir plain and dry. Las tamales remain stable for the end of this quarter at $6.00 a dozen; .50 cents lower than last year at this time.

La baracoa de beef head. We got a real big treat this week from a friend of ours, J>P> weeks dropped by yesterday a shared a story with us on how to BAKED BEEF Head. He said that From: The Only Texas Cookbook, Texas Monthly Press, 1981 By: Linda West Elkhart. Here J>P> tells us que John Casey tells him the South Texas ranchers had some help from Mexicans when it came time to butcher. The Mexicans taught them how to make use of the entire animal. They would take a steer or heifer head, skin it, salt and pepper it, wrap it in several sacks of wet burlap. Dig a deep hole. Line the hole with rocks made hot by a roaring campfire. Put the head in. Cover it with a thin layer of dirt. Then pour on more hot rocks and dirt until the whole thing was covered. They would come back 18 or 20 hours later, dig the head up, unwind the burlap, pull out the tongue, hit the skull with an ax, and eat the brains, the tongue, everything.

Casey says it’s a real treat. This meat-in-a-hole method is an old trick. Sometimes it doesn't work out. They were having a huge barbecue in the Panhandle recently one of those public celebrations where they killed 7 or 8 animals and meant to barbecue them all. Well, you can imagine how this story went. The Caterpillars were driven in to dig a huge pit. The barbecue man laid his fire, got it just right, put in all this meat, covered it up. Came back in 24 hours with 20,000 hungry people behind him, dug it up, and discovered the fire had gone out. He had lots of beans, lots of cole slaw, and lots of rotting meat in a hole. No wonder some cooks turn to drinking.

With that in mind easy on the fat, I will take a pound of it to go. La barbacoa ending this quarter on a high note, going at $7.00. A dollar jump from last week.

And finally cheap beer. Well folks what can I say. Just in our hood there is three stores and ever-freaky store has different prices. We buy at the best deal. Cheap beer remain stable for the quarter at $4.65 a six pack.

From my office at the storage units on the third floor of the Westinghouse barrio mall. I am Urbano Yosabatodo. Good day.

exclusive interview con Joey Garcia sr. losgrupo los perdidos 2015

Exclusive interview con Joey Garcia Sr. del grupo Los Perdidos, 2015.

Cchwnn.

Somewhere in Canyon,Texas. My oh my is this snow or what, I am Blanca Blanch Blanco here con my new bicycle and a bit frozen, but excited to do this cool cold interview con Joey Garcia Sr, del grupo Los Perdidos, 2015. Now for that interview.

Bbb: well hello big boy, can you give me a warm hand off this bicycle it seems that I am a bit frozen on to it?

Jg: Welcome to Canyon Bbb!  Yes ma'am, you came at a good time, we only got 4 inches of snow today! Looks like you're going to have to come inside with your bicycle until you thaw out! Just ride on inside!

BBB: Joey, let’s start on how long have you been in the music business and tell us a little bit about Los Perdidos?

Jg: We started the band in January of 2007. I have three sons that play in the band: Joey Garcia Jr on bass, Joshua Garcia on accordion & lead vocals, Rudy Garcia on drums & vocals. Primo Chris Cantu on percussion, Ramiro Sanchez on keys and I play guitar! We play classic Tejano, but when we recorded our first cd, there are 12 original songs written and composed by our very own Joshua Garcia.

BBB: does it make any differences having family members as part of your band?

Jg: I personally think it does! Because we're family, we all put 110% into making this band a success! Any time we get together, not just at practice, we're always brain storming about what could make our music better, what could make the Tejano industry better! That's not to say that we always get along and everything runs smooth, because we have our problems like everyone else!

BBB: on your last cd “Cambia Por Mejor” what can we expect from the new one to be released in 2015, different from the one I just mention?

Jg: Well, Joshua is our writer/composer, and speaking with him, he'll tell you that the music on the second cd is going to be a lot better than on "Cambia Por Mejor"! Joshua feels his writing/composing skills have grown and will show in his songs! We learned a lot recording our first cd and we're taking that experience into recording our second cd! This cd will feature rancheras and cumbias like "Cambia Por Mejor", but may have a ballad or two and maybe even a hidden track! We'll see what Joshua comes up with! It'll be good, I can tell you that much!

BBB: do you see any differences on fans that come and see you guys as you travel from city to city?

Jg:   Everywhere we go, people young and old alike, come out! And that is a very good thing for us!

BBB: besides doing your original music when you perform, is there other folks songs that you perform during the show?

Jg: Yes Blanca! We like to play classic covers songs as original as we can as a tribute to the artist that made that song a hit! We play cover songs in our shows so that people can hear their favorite songs of the past and we mix in our originals so that they can hear our songs and get to know them! Joshua and Rudy have different vocal ranges which allows us to cover just about any artist: Ramon Ayala, Intocable, Michael Salgado, Los Dos Gilbertos, Duelo, La Differencia, Estrella, Emilio, Jay Perez, Grupo Mazz to name a few!

BBB: has there ever been a time that you ask yourself that this gig just didn’t cut it?

Jg: Oh YES! LOL! In our early years, I recorded most of our performances so that we could sit down and review it and decide what we needed to work on as entertainers! Every once in awhile, we'll watch those early years and laugh! One day, one of my sons summed it all up by his remark: "And we thought we were good!" Fortunately, most of those were either free gigs or we played for very little money! We've grown since those early years and feel much better about our shows!

BBB: is there still one performance that stands out in your mind from all of the ones you have done?

Jg: There are a couple:

The first was back in 2010, we had just played a jamaica in Kress, TX. and upon leaving the stage, a group of people had gathered to the side of stage where we were exiting! As we were trying to get through the people, they began to ask us for autographs, cds and tshirts! We were stunned because we didn't have any merchandise, much less a cd to sell! That's when we said 'Ok, time to get serious'!

The second was 2014, Fan Fair weekend at the Cadillac Bar in San Antonio, on Saturday night, we closed out the show and the crowd was awesome! About 30 minutes into our show, Ricardo Castillon (La Differencia) came on stage and sang a song with us! That was a shock and will always stand out for us!

BBB: do you believe in UFO’s?

Jg: I have to say that two of our band members do believe they're out there! Personally, I am a skeptic! So, when I see a UFO, I'll believe in them! Until then - NO! LOL!

BBB: if given the opportunity to speak with a group of young people what would you share with them about life?

Jg: RESPECT! That would be my life topic with the youth of today! When you have respect for your elders and for yourself, everything else falls into place! Most important, respect each other!

BBB; and now sir is there anything you would like to share with your fan base from around the world?

Jg: I wouldn't say we have a 'fan base'! I like to think of everyone as family and friends! We've played a lot of places and therefore we've made a lot of friends! Also, we've met a lot of family in different cities that we've played! With that said, to our family and friends: we thank you for your support, for allowing us to entertain you and your family and friends, we have had such a good time entertaining all of you! We look forward to the many family and friends that we have yet to meet and entertain! We will see you soon! And to CCHWNN, we thank you for your time and look forward to meeting all of you!

BBB: well Mr. Garcia I want to thank you for your time in doing this interview, now can we go out and drink a few but first can you give me a big hand back on this bicycle?

Jg: Yes BBB, don't slip on that puddle you left on my floor! Thank you for coming to Canyon through the snow and ice! Be careful on your trip back!

BBB: you know for all those young people that think they understand la onda, eat your heart out, it’s a family thing and family never forgets, I am BBB con on the road again interviews, good day.

Hejola report for 03042015.

Cchwnn.

Kingsville, texas. Hello again I am Bill Diaz con today’s award winning barrio headline news:

Cchwnn prepares for La gringa Novela for 2015.

Armed bandits arrested at the corner of third and wells.

And now some darn good news.

Today barrio leaders have agreed to agree.

Ten armed bandits were arrested by el constable and lots of real cops after they heard and saw a ton of ten armed bandits walking around the corner of third and wells with weapons. They were surrounded by at least 30 or more cops and swat and a lot of other law officers carrying real guns and weapons and along con el constable we able to take them. It seems that this was a group of barrio residents from around the county wanting to show off their weapons and made sure if anyone or anything gave them some chit, they would have to face them in line of fire. Well at least we know their fire has been turned off for now.

We have been informed que the cchwnn writers are preparing to present a six weeks of drama written by a gringa for want to be gringas. La Gringa Novela will feature true stories of lives of gringas and their affect in the hood. Maria la Bandia will host this series of episodes that cause lots of unwanted drama among many gringas. It’s like for real, you think you seen and heard everything, well wait till you read this. Coming soon, “ la gringa novella and you thought you heard and seen everything”.

Ok raza have you hug a real Texan?

barrio stock market report for 02272015

barrio stock market report for 02272015..

cchwnn.

Kingsville,tx. Hello once again como estan I am urbano yosabatodo con this week’s barrio stock market report.

First of all on the serious note, barrio stock market report is on its tenth year providing raza consumers con the best darn investment information available on the barrio net for barrio folks.

For real folks, we assure you que your investments is our barrio concern, but always remember, our slogan “if you can’t eat it don’t buy it….”.Now for that barrio stock market report:

Los tamales: First and foremost, los tamales market is a completely independent market that is monitor by the two ways, a person who can buy or make them yourself or a home or buys them at a major chain store.

Los tamales, "Business in most hoods or barrios continued to express concern over the rising costs of masa and other stuff you use to make them," the report said, although tamale brokers say que manufacturers and business service providers were able to pass along "part -- if not all -- of these cost increases along to their customers, si that’s you and me. And since a lot of holidays are just around the corner we do encourage folks to buy them now at a reasonable price and not wait for the projected increase coming in a few weeks. Tamales remain stable at $6.00 a dozen. Nobody cares more about your wealth and the future of your interest in buying and eating tamales then we do here and you there. .

Los taquitos: Los taquitos , The high price of taquitos we noticed this week is due to the fact que el barrio inflation has increased by at least 20 percent for the end of this quarter compared to last year. The report published by los dos brother lopez associates a few weeks ago, suggested que an increases in wages for some and very few for others, that more and more barrio folks will be eating at home for sure, and we will see a decrease on retail prices "generally speaking they will subdued," the lopez report said. At this time taquitos remain $1.35  each , cup of coffee is extra. By the way how many refills can a person get anyhow?

Las empanadas: currently, las empanada makers are going to be required only to product-limited amounts due the high prices of pumpkins, sweet potatoes and pineapples. In addition our empanada war of 2015 has made some major chances con esto companies here in the hood. Last fall, Consumers were very patient along con some advocacy groups increased pressure on trying to bring empandes down to four for a dollar, and more filling in them. Which both you and I know they won’t happen. The price of empanadas is $.89 cents each, and will remain stable for the rest of this quarter.

Cheap beer: cheap beer no longer exists but we do find some Six-packs remain stable at $4.95 a six pack. Real beer just above, $6.50 a six pack.

La barbacoa de cavesa: La barbacoa de cavesa has done real good here in the last few weeks. It seems que it’s had not taken the challenge serious this year from those darn llama growers. Now for la raza that own livestock, they won’t worry too much, since the production on llamas meat won’t start anytime soon. One vato says que it will take several years before, if not longer que la llama meat has an impact in the hood. La barbacoa de cavesa ended the week at all-time high $7.00 lb.

westinghouse barrio mall newsletter for 02262015

Westinghouse barrio mall newsletter 02262015.

Cchwnn.

Kingsville,Texas. Hello I am Gloria Guerra con today’s special edition of our mall newsletter:

Mall fires mall mascot and has try out this weekend.

Clown fest gearing up for this spring break.

And now some darn good news.

How can any woman or in some case men lend out their personal sex toys. Well this weekend the barrio recycle department has agreed and has a safety net insult to where all anyone willing to exchange their toys for other toys. The only problem is you have to bring your own plastic gloves to go thru all these toys. An id will be required and must be at least 43 years of age in order to see, exchange, feel, smell or try out any of them toys. Please note that there will be a charge to some of the let me see things and try things. Ok raza, let’s get that groove going.

The mall would like to invite all the Clown’s in the area to attend this year’s Clown Fest 2015. In the past we have had some major trouble with some clown union from our side of the tracks vs. the unions for the other side of the tracks. In order to prevent any violence or fights or any kind of misunderstanding we are asking if you are a member of a certain clown union you need to have a deposit on your rent a space, now if you are a non- union clown a larger deposit will be required for just in case you cause some chit. We will also be raffling this year’s best spot at the mall, where by the way Mr. turkey booths was, and there only 100 tickets available but will be only sold to those clowns that can demonstrate that they belong to some clown group or union.  So bring your best and join the rest of the clowns this weekend at Clown Fest 2015.

Mr. Turkey mall’s mascot aka Junior Wally Wally Munoz was fired after he showed up drunk at a children reunion program this past Wednesday, and on another date he was reported seen going in a women bathroom during women’s day back earlier this year. But what broke the camel’s back was he was seen at his usually spot at the mall draining his vein in a paper cup will tending to his usually unexceptionable behavior. So he/she was fired and now we are looking for the new Mr. Turkey, so if you think you got the wings to do your thing wearing a Turkey outfit, come on down. Interview start on Saturday at around 2a.m., and whatever you do don’t show up with alcohol breathe or drunk.

Ok raza have a great day and hope you enjoy.

chicano manifesto: the end of radio programing as we know it, well at least as i know it. 2015

Chicano manifesto: the end of radio programing as we know it, well at least as I know it?2015.

Cchwnn.

Kingsville, Texas. Hello raza I am Maria la Bandia here at the St. Paul’s medical center located at the Westinghouse barrio mall. There is really no need to worry about me I will survive these injuries that happened a few days ago. But I am here to discuss the end of radio programing as we all know it. Let’s try and understand how this is going to happen.

It is not an easy thing for me to say or contemplate, when we spend almost a life time listening to commercial radio both FM and FM. But as time goes on, we really have our doubts as to how long this routine, spit out by many radios stations, will continue to bring in the revenue these operations depend on for survival.

First of all let me tell you radio not only has survived, but has flourished for decade’s way before many were born. And I am more than sure that corporate program directors local and nationwide along with their so call consultants will argue the merits on how they pick music by the selling of ads and the music they play each week (and in some cases what other stations are playing). Now what many don’t like to talk about but still defend are the loser songs that get added, not because people like them but because the independent record rep have paid some stations promotional dollars, for that favor, now many are going to argue this but because it’s their job.

Now what I can see coming is that AM and FM broadcasters are not giving up on music any time soon. But what they do need to understand that they will not be able to compete with that tightly niche music formats online, now there will always be a place for local content, and that localism will perhaps be their saving grace, but what does it do for the radio listener.

I am sure that many families and individuals don’t sit around that good old radio anymore and listen to those favor songs we all enjoy listening too back in the days. Now this might just happen when taking a family trip and as long as I can catch our local radio station we will listen to it in my car, we aren’t got any problems.

I guess the real challenge is what we have available now. Let me explain, my car doesn’t even have a radio nevertheless air conditions. But many new cars have that extra accessory to all those new radios programs that one dreams of along con those lab tops and everything but the kitchen sink can be taken with you on trips and if you have funds you can pay for internet on that new expensive phone and added as an extra accessory. So now we have access to almost any type or style of music you love without having to start from one end of the radio dial to the other end looking for that certain station that we can listen to or hope to catch without anyone trying to sell you god or their political incorrectness.

The trouble is that this has become a self-fulfilling prophecy that precludes even the station website from having any relevance. Integrating on-air and on-line efforts into a strategy is all the more difficult in a climate of declining advertising revenues in many cases. After all, an effective online presence takes resources. Still that is the challenge and I haven't yet seen many Tejano radio stations doing it or doing it well.

But by bring the internet with you on the road or at home Online broadcasters will have to be careful though as they are also vulnerable to the same pitfalls and attitudes. They will have to make sure that THEIR websites are something more than a gateway to the radio stream.

So in conclusion, I use this statement I found somewhere on the internet;

“I could sit here all afternoon and click my way through 150 channels, all different and designed to appeal to the very narrow tastes of a great many people. When it comes down to it, each one of us has a preference, unlike the next guy. We are unique. Nowadays, commercial Radio knows it can never please all of us, and is forced to cater to a small slice of the pie known as a target demographic. Even so, if a station aims at men, 18-34 for instance, there is still so much diversity in taste within even that sliver, the best a station can hope to do is program it's content so it hits "the middle" which, inevitably leads to little risk taking and bland programming. I click on the "Awesome80s" channel. Janet Jackson is singing "Control". How appropriate because that's exactly what Net Radio has given back to the listeners”.

But than what do I know, I am just a make believe person.

I am Maria La Bandia y a word to los pelon’s I have your number.
