westinghouse barrio mall newsletter for 02242010

Westinghouse barrio mall newsletter for 10102007.
Cchwnn.
Kingsville, TX. Hello again I am Gloria Guerra con this week’s mall newsletter. Well if the shit wasn’t enough where the city, county, and state people took it on their own to start knocking the hood down, well con todo esto the mall was also effected, now with that report here is alcardio samudio.
Si Gloria drug and law enforcement officers along con el constable cadena raided several stores here at the mall. El senior MI casa Es su casa restaurant owner got busted for selling weed here in the mall. My god what the hell is wrong con el compadre casas. Chinga if la raza didn’t have it so bad already and now give our mall a bad name.
In addition to all this Gloria, Martha Gomez owner of Martha’s nail and curls were also raided for selling hot stuff. Chinga what else could have happen. Furthermore, j.j. Sanchez owner of JJ videos and cd also were raided for selling hot stuff and pirate tapes. All and all Gloria ten people were arrested con esta raid at the mall.
Si thank al. the law dogs didn’t even warn us here que the raid was coming. So that made everyone here at the mall very nervous and a bit worried. Anyhow we will see how many of the charges will hold, BUT besides that lets go to our man in the mall our mall mascot mr. turkey:

Mr turkey here gobble gobble there and sometime or here and let lets say que gobble here and gobble there ok Gloria.
Ok mr. turkey by the way we will be having our first mascot day coming in a few weeks so be looking for that.
I am Gloria Guerra here at the Westinghouse barrio mall .

Hejola report for 02232010.

Kingsville,tx. Hello again I am Bill Diaz con today’s barrio award winning headline news:
La comadre plea guilty,
Several comadres leave town to go shopping,
And finally I am too good for the hood.

Those were the last words we heard from la commadre Rosieta Bueno after she promise never to shop in the barrio again. It seems que the hood is so behind in fashion que I have to go dallas o Houston or even three rivers to do my shopping. One shop owner whose name we will not mention, said que if la comadre wasn’t so fat she could find what she wanted here.

In other fashion news, it’s a fact que the word is out que not to shop in el Westinghouse mall porque they are out of style and chingos de commadres are preparing to take a long trip to dallas, houston and even three rivers or somewhere like Waco or something to find a better style of clothing. The only bad part of this whole matter is que las commadre wear blue jeans and have to go to the men’s section to find the right fit. Pesse hejola.
And finally la commadre Luz Diaz was found guilty for stealing, cheating, lying, and just plan being ugly to all her friends who donated chingos de clothing, money and lots of goods when her supposedly burned down. It was discovered que she had made all this up. She will be in court this coming Monday.
Well there you have it raza and for those who think que the fashion in south texas is behind the times. Yu are right. How far does a person have to go to buy men’s blue jeans.. I am bill diaz.

Kingsville,tx. Hello once again como estan, I am Bill Diaz con today’s award winning barrio headline news:
Drunk vato at education rally,
La commadre accepts admissions to college at age of 73.
And finally, ten county inmates escape work crew.
It was a bad idea for the get go, says el constable Cadena when ten county inmates from across the tracks were assigned to hard labor work on our side of track escaped. El constable is seeking el barrio and Westside resident for their assistances in capturing three black men, five Anglos men and who knows what they were. If you know anything about them or seem then there is a small reward for any information leading to their arrest.
La commadre Jane J. Jimenez, age 75, was the most happiest person en el barrio when she was presented her acceptance letter to the barrios higher education center. El senor Manuel Martinez, the director of the center tells us que Jane was the oldest person that they had every accepted to continue her education after high school. We had to wavier her application just for mere fact, que she wanted to continue her education. You see it took Jane more than five decades to get that GED. And now she is really proud of this achievement. The only problem we can see says Mr. Martinez, let see how long it will take for her to get her college degree.
And finally, el amigo Pancho trinity Munoz was arrested this weekend at the Westinghouse barrio mall when he entered the educational mobile home wanting to give blood. It seems that Mr. Munoz thought that the educational mobile was the blood mobile and he was determining to give blood. The educational mobile staff asked Mr. Munoz that he had to leave since he was not there seeking information on higher education. El constable cadena was called to the scene where he found Munoz drunker than a skunk and smelled like pee, sitting outside in line with a few beers in his coat pocket. He was arrested for public borracho and smelling like shit.

Well there you have it raza, time to go and take a bath, and please have a great day.

And new barrio leaders call for unity from all the hoods in the hood.
‘Hey cowboy: Special investigation con Veronica Lebanese’s,
Si Como estan todos, oh my, oh my girl, are we ready for some darn good investigating reporting on my part. First of all, my report is a spin off from that cowboy movie; yea that’s one about the queer or gay vato's dressed like cowboys. Now before you delete me from anywhere, lets really talk about it like real adults, yes, men and men, women y women and so on. I am sure que what I will report is nothing new news but old news to many of us that love to heard all sorts of news. Come on.
Our main concern is what is this movie going to do to los compadres who love to look like cowboys and and what is it going to do for the western wear economy? Well I ask what do you think?
Can you real take a real cowboy to this movie with you? Come on, can you? If you are old school it’s the modern day-midnight cowboy into the future. Pero con real cowboys. Hejola.
So vato the next time que you go to that tejano bar y dress in that little cowboy outfit que you like, be very careful, somebody is watching you, now back to Bill.
Wow what a great story veronica, now in other news,

As you might already know this will be our ninth year barrio Easter recycle can hunt. This is where we go out and hind cans so children can learn about recycling. Organizers tell us que in order to make it happen we need your cans. If you are interested in donating cans, You can leave your Cans or you can be dropped off at our community center where it says drop cans here if you can reach the drop door.
And finally, a new barrio leaders call for unity from all the hoods in the hood. It seems que estos new elected barrio representatives are for real and going to do something for our hood. Great job raza. Since election time is just around the corner make sure an vote. I am bill diaz for cchwnn.

e

exclusive interview con David Lee Garza

Cchwnn; exclusive interview con David Lee Garza.
Somewhere in Poteet, Tx.
Hello again I am Blanca Blanch Blanco with one of the most important interview, I have ever been assigned to do, and believe me I have been assigned to do many. But today is a very special interview con the man himself, the man of the hour Mr. David Lee Garza.
BBB; gee Mr. Garza we want to thank you for allowing us to do this interview?

DLG: Not a problem

BBB: You know David if you don’t mind me calling you David?

DLG: Thats cool
BBB: well Mr. Garza after listening to your music for several years now it’s safe to say that you have almost seen everything that could happen to a band, can you share some moments that you might recall that makes you stay in this business this long?

DLG: What i like about what we do is that every now and then a fan will come up to me and say that because of our music or a song they got married.

BBB: your music career has really open the door to a whole lot of male vocals that have gone on their own, does that bother you in which having to keep on looking for lead vocals for your band?

DLG: It was kinda hard at first but after 2 or 3 vocalist came and went we learned real quick that it was a tuff business, but at the same time bringing a new voice into the band was a shot in the arm and the fans were looking forward to it as well.

BBB: besides your great music career, you have done lots of community work in your home town, what are your expectations for future in that area? (outside the music career)

DLG: Being a small town not to many things change around here just faces so its really hard to say what the future brings.

BBB: we know that you do have children, what are their musical plans and future if any in the music business?

DLG: Our kids are very talented but seem to want to do something else for a living and we respect that.

BBB: during your music career we read that one of your best year, I am sure there has been many, but in 1998 you had a crossover blend of music sound de tejano and norteno style. Have this two combinations of style re- directed your concept of what tejano music today?

DLG: No not really Tejano to us is just feel. We tried different sounds and its funny but you seem to allways go back to something you have allready done but to our fans its a fresh sound.

BBB: after reading about you’re successful musical career, what have been some of the difficulties in establish a base for your style of music, such as producing and arranging your style?
DLG: I have to admitt that we are older and the thinking cap isnt what it use to be so we ask our producer/engineer to help us on the arranging even though some of us still have some pretty good ideas.

BBB: David we have seen lots of your postings on a web sites, just to name one, Tejano journal , with this in mind there has been lots of discussions concerning the status of tejano music and its industry, and that we are not progressing, what is your stand on this matter?

DLG: Times change and to the young generation what we call Tejano music is old school, but the young generation is gonna get old some day and they will fall right back to our Tejano music. So are we progressing i say yes thats all we can do is progress.

BBB: after a few employees here at our command post sir are wondering when in the world are you coming to perform in Kingsville,tx?

DLG: Whenever we can get a date we will do our best to go cause we know we have lots of fans that follow us to other citys and towns.

BBB: David if you were giving the opportunity to speak to a thousand high school students what would you tell ?

DGL: ITS DLG: Study hard and be somebody. Make a difference in our world.

BBB: again MR. Garza it has been an honor to have walked all the way here to poteet and have this opportunity to have conducted this interview , we want to thank you for taking time from your real busy schedule to me with me?

DGL: Its DLG: No thank you from taking the walk and if you want i can give you a ride back home.

BBB: well raza there you have it a living legend in his own time, and a man that has influenced thousands of young men and women en la onda tejano and darn proud to have done this interview , and I want to thank our creator for setting this up, I am Blanca Blanch Blanco and keep it tejano.

Hejolia report for 02162010.

Kingsville,t x. Now that man que the IRS is looking for and has a way not to pay child support, here is our own vato of the year David duran.
Heaveno raza, well I am back from a small vacation we took south of the local checkpoint. And is there traffic or what and gas is some expensive que we almost didn’t make it back con $5.00 of gas. Thank god que we got the gas mixed up con diesel que the storeowner blame it on his poor staff attendent. Yea right. Anyhow we made it home and now con the today’s award winning headline news:
Dos commaders say que a car almost hit them while they walked.
A homeless gringo picked up for asking for donations at the Westinghouse barrio mall.
And finally a child exchange went badly.
Yesterday afternoon a child exchange went badly at the constables office lobby when la commadre Christina Nunez berated the dad, Alfonso Della Cruz Martinez, about non-payment of child support payments. While the constable tried to tell her that conversation was over con su ex-husband, but she continued with the "harsh and argumentative" line of inquiry. Both el senior Della Cruz and child waited elsewhere at the constable’s office for her to clear the lobby before they left. Christina was escorted to the other side of the tracks by the constable.
A few moments later, the constable got a call from la commadre Sonya who said that as she and a friend Norma Garza were walking down wells street, que a car swerved at them, trying to run the two down. Both woman la commadre Sonya y su friend Norma Garza were able to identified the driver who met the description of Christina Nunez, yes the same woman who had been escorted to the other side of the tracks by el constable cadena. An arrest warrant has been issued for this woman. El barrio is again asked for their help in finding this disarrayed woman. If you know the where about of this woman, Please call el constable cadenas officer or just dial 811.
And finally A gringo man huddled in front of the Westinghouse barrio mall, asking that "donations" be placed in a cup. Was arrested for falsely asking for donation. The cup said for his education. It seemed que the man, James Wilcox or Dr. Wilcox was released after he had been arrested for asking for donation to pay for his education. Since he already had a dr. degree and had suffered a nervous breakdown a few years later, and lately has the habit of repeating mathematical formulas out loud and and sharing them con the general public. He was taken back to the other side of the track and was admitted to lalala home for lalala people.

Well folks thank god que I already live in alalalala land. I am David duran for our 1978 ford whatever and remember
“ Your business is our business and my business is none of your business”.

Kingsville,tx. Hello raza and how was your day to fall in love? Anyhow I am bill diaz con today’s award winning barrio headline news:
Vato in the hood arrested three times in one week.
La commadre arrested for striping.
And finally la commadre finds a stranger in her bed.
It seems que the valentine’s day dance held last night was too much for el compadre Martin Chapa. El senor chapa was arrested after he tried to fled the scene where he found himself sleeping con la comadre from across the street. Somehow or someway he managed to cuddled up to la comadre in her bed. And when la commadre woke up and startled el compadre he tried to make a run for it. El constable cadena told this reporter que it is not possibility that this incident could be related to others , whereas in the last two years such incidents have been occurring that included sexual assaults. El compadre will be charged.
El senor Panchito Blanco was arrested three times in one day last we heard. He first was charged for a motor vehicle violation, which was his car didn’t have a front windshield and than he was charged with driving without a driver license and furthermore, he had attached two different driver plates one in front of his car was from Texas and than one in the back was from California. And the one that broke the camel’s back, was he had forgery of registry documents and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. He was toll away to the county jail.
It seems that a 52 year old barrio woman who stripped in front of her chidren in a drunk attempt to avoid a shoplifting arrest is going to jail says el constable cadena. Si, Maria Gacia will be locked up for a few days based on her plea agreement. She will also be expected to do at least 100 hours of community work. Ms. Garcia was charged with stealing some candy and a pack of gum from the store. It seems the store owner called el constable and told them what Maria had done, so they went over to her home where she began screaming at the constable. During all this, she then stripped to her underwear and told el constable que she dare him to arrest her because she was naked. Oh well.
Well folks there you have it I am bill diaz

valentine's day con la china cano de china nuveo leon

Valentine’s day advise for lovers and haters con la china cano de china Nuevo leon.
Cchwnn, 0214,2010.
Kingsville,tx. Once again I am la china cano de china Nuevo leon con our valentine’s day advise for lovers and haters. Si once again we are here and lots of raza are expecting something kinky for a valentine’s day gift. Why something kinky cause that is what valentine’s day is, kinky. Besides Halloween when can a woman and in some kinky men dress up like women ? it only comes around twice a year and we should take advantage of it.
It reminds me of my la tiya tuchagadamadre, si that’s the one, she loved to make her own kinky clothes. She would cut up old clothes and called her new creations a barrio label of some what. I’m telling you man this tiya come make kinky clothes out of almost nothing.
One time la tiya made a tiyo a g-string out of an old pair of athletic supporters. And used a stapler to keep it together. The only problem was que el tiyo got some kinda rash on his ass from the staplers. Based on la tiya it looked good on el tiyo.
Pero valentines day is so special here in the hood also. This time of year many women don’t hang their underwear on clothes lines anymore. Its seems que at least twenty women report to me annual que they are missing under wear all the time during the time of year. With things to expensive you would imagine que mucho vatos would go to those dollar stores an purchase a cheap pair of them underwear for less than a dollar a pair. Pero no senor, they would rather go around an rip them off the clothes lines. Chinga.
Anyhow valentines is a great day. It’s a time to kiss and make up. Why would someone be a hater all the time. I wonder they must be fat and ugly. Or just plain want to be mean. It sad que many chicanos, tejanos, and good ole amercians us that old saying its America and I can do what ever I want. Si you are so right but be nice also. It wouldn’t hurt now would it … ?
So life goes on and don’t get mad if you don’t get those flowers and don’t get mad it you don’t get that box of fatting candy and don’t get mad if you just don’t get a hung and don’t get mad.

I am la china cano and I do love you.. haters. From la china Nuevo leon I am la china cano con this valentines day I love you comments.

barrio stock market report for02122010

Barrio stock market for 02122009.
Cchwnn.
Kingsville, tx. Once again from our barrio stock exchange I am urbano yosabatodo con this week’s barrio stock market. The barrio stock exchange office has just re opened at our new location at 623 west. Elle #1 apartment here in Kingsville, tex. If you are every in the hood please stop by and visit our center. Oh by the way there is a small fee to come in but I am sure que a cheap six pack of beer will be more than enough to it in.
You know folks down here don’t realize que using electricity to heat or cool your home will not lower that bill. So folks you need to turn some shit off and put more clothing on. How do we plan to save this year when we just can’t stop spending?
Now here is our award winning barrio stock market report :
Los Tamales: this last few weeks our el tamale man was tired of walking all over town trying to get ruin of his tamales at any price he could get for them. Los tamales ended the week at record low for this year at $4.00 a dozen. Raza buy raza buy. Oh by the way he said I still owe him a few dollars. Chinga.
Los taquitos: wow we really blew this call. Well we were so proud que el hood was doing so good in keeping small taco stands open longer than predicted. It’s sad que we now have a new trend going on here. It seems que at least three additional small taco stands and restaurants have shut down the last 200 days. It doesn’t look good for us here in the hood that love to go out and eat. We are still pretty happy que one restaurant is still open around the corner. Los taquitos took a small hike back to $1.49 each and coffee is extra. Oh by the way a special taco cost only $1.10.
Las empanadas: less filling is our beef what’s yours? That Was the subject for the last few years. The empanada war of 2006 is about filling. We are hoping que we don’t have to take this route again. But we did have some kind of an impact. We have and I am sure if you are still reading this bull, que las empanadas are more filled que ever before. Las empanadas closed at high price of $.89 cents each.
Cheap beer: chinga even los borrachos are complaint about having to walk further now to buy beer. Si muchos de los small stores have shut down also in the hood. Its funny que we won’t walk to far for almost anything but we will walk a mile or two for some beer. Cheap beer ended the week at $4.65 a six pack.
Las tortillas: here is a good one for you raza, if you remember our tamale war of 1997 when that former city redneck commissioner Russell rusty ruffneck tells us que he has started a new gringo thing in our side of the hood. This new group which does not have a name yet tells us que real soon they are going to have a one day protects, and not eat Mexican food or even tortillas. He tells this reporter que we will si quein es mas chingo…. The gringo protest is being plan as we speak. That should be very interesting. “A day without a gringo customer”. Las tortillas took a big hick. Wow we hadn’t realize que them things are so high now. Las tortillas ended the week at $1.55 a dozen. There is gold in them tortillas….
And finally la barbacoa de cabeza: well it’s been long expected and it’s just around the corner based on what el senor Alfonso Rubio, the owner of our llama ranch right at the edge of our hood. Mr rubio wanted to let everybody in the hood que them llamas are growing real quick and are getting real big, and we are more than sure que we will see lots of llama meat in the hood real soon. This of course has all the beef owners a bit worried and are planning a seminar on the future of beef barbacoa. La barbacoa de cabeza took a drive up from last week $6.00 a pound. Dang it I don’t want the whole cow.

BARRIO income tax adviser:
Now if you planning to file your taxes, you might want to consider adopting a senior citizen for a week or more. Yes, you heard right, there is a group of retired retards that have gotten together to form a senior citizen group where you can go an pick up a few seniors, that are willing to live with you if you claim them on your income tax for at least three months. After that its optional.
No more uncle Samuel problems. Hey got to pay our taxes.

Ok raza there you have it. Our want ads will be back next week. I am urbano yosabatodo .

Kingsville,tx. Hello once again raza como estan I am Bill Diaz, and now let’s go to Johnnie el quemon en Monterey mexico con today’s monterey’s daily news:
Si billy como estas y yo soy Johnnie el quemon en my office here in monterey’s office con today’s news:
Barrio Pen pal service being investigated,
Barrio 8-ball lotto on for this weekend,
And finally 12 of the 18 busted this weekend are held without bond.
Law enforcement officers from across the tracks, let the hood know, que 12 of the 18 barrio members that got busted this weekend at the super bowl party will not going to be release anytime soon says Edward May, chief investigator for the east side task force on “lets bust those vato’s across the tracks”. It seems that at least 12 of these persons were arrested during the new years eve party and were released and never showed up for trial. He says that he won’t make the same mistake this time. Bond will not be set until later this month. A list of names has been posted at the Westside post office just in case you have a missing relative these past few days. Oh by the way, Mr. May wants to thank the “let me put the finger on you committee “ , for putting the finger on that new years eve and super bowl parties.
Barrio 8-ball officials in the hood announced that the grand prize this weekend will be for $55.00 and some change. Lotto numbers can be bought anywhere in the hood, or can come by our office at the Westinghouse barrio mall.
And finally many city, county and state officials are checking into our new barrio pen pal services that recently opened. It seems que this guys think, it’s an unauthorized dating services and we have been told que they might do almost anything for money. The owners of this company were not available to answer any question on the phone.
Now let’s go back to our command post in Kingsville con Bill Diaz,

howdy barrio report for 02092010

Howdy barrio report for 02092010.
Cchwnn.
Kingsville, TX. Howdy folks I am country pancho will you’ll award winning headline news:
Barrio dog catcher gets caught.
Chingos de clothes missing from folks back yard.
And finally, city trying to cut down on the number of farm animals in the hood.
Every year at this time the city fathers and some mothers try to pass a city ordinance limiting the number of farm animals a person can have inside the city limits. On our side of the tracks barrio folks have really accumulated a large number of farm animals within their premises, and are lowering the property value of many homes. This matter will be reviewed this coming Monday a year from now.
It was reported that at least 10 blue jeans, 25 pair of socks, 35 pair of women underwear and a ton of t-shirts have been reported missing. El constable cadena tells us that all this clothing has been ripped off from barrio folk’s clothes lines. Oh yea, it seems that every time around this year lots of folks start missing clothing. The only clue the constable has is to make sure that Benny Morse Garza is still locked up. If you don’t remember Garza was arrested several years ago for stealing folks clothing from their back yards cloth line and was sentenced to two to three years in local county jail. A small reward is being offered.
It seems that our boy John Cortez our local dog catcher had a bad habit of catching dogs that weren’t doing nothing but taking a walk. Yea, you heard right, many of the dogs in the hood don’t have tags but the ones that do are the ones this guy Cortez is catching. And not only that he had a list of dogs that certain folks were looking for and willing to buy and pay a good price for them. Well all this came to an end late last night when el constable and the rest of the dog catcher from across the tracks arrested John for stealing and hold dogs without any reason and selling them without a permit. Charges will be filed.
There you have it folks, I am out of here, I am country pancho.

New Orleans, La. Hello again raza Como estan, I am Veronica La Lesbian and we are still up from getting down here in New Orleans. Chingos de gente and chingos de winners. But talking about winners let go to our award winning headline news:
5 barrio members arrested at Super Bowl party at two ton of fun bar.
Deadliest time to drive in the hood is noon time.
And finally, county fair brings lots of sadness in the hood.
You might remember the article we wrote a few months ago about several barrio FFA members losing their fair project when someone actually stole 5 show pigs and then were arrested for slain the poor little piggies. Well this weekend at the closing of this year’s county fair, county fair officials donated 5 more pigs to those kids that were unable to show their projects due to their bad luck. Hector Cortez county fair official told us que this new 5 pigs would give those kids a brand new shot at next year’s county fair show. That’s if their luck don’t run out.
Yes says el constable cadena, we do have a large drinking problems in the hood and especially around noon time everyday of the week. This year we have arrested more than 30 folks drinking while drinking, plus have had 55 speeding while driving, and 158 have been fined for not wearing their seat belts. We hope que the community gets the word que we are out to get you.
Well it seems that gambling illegal is alive and well here in the hood says el constable cadena after he was called to a fight that had broken out at the “two tons of fun” bar. It seem that the bar had a football pot going and for some reason or another paid out some money until the game officials reviewed the play an gave the two points to the saints and that changed the score. So the bar wanted its money back to be able to pay out the real winners with the real score. Well that didn’t go down n to go con the first winners who had already bought several rounds of drinks when the bar wanted its money back. A fight broke out between the first winners and the real winners. 5 were arrested along with the owner of the two tons.
Well there you have it folks, I am on my way back to Kingsville from the party scene here in New Orleans.

exclusive interview 2010 con Los X$

Exclusive interview 2010, con Los X4.
Cchwnn.
Walking inside somewhere at casa Blanca national park.
Laredo, TX. Hello again raza, I am Blanca Blanch Blanco; here I am on our Texas tour, on chingos de new interviews. This week I am in Laredo, TX. At la casa Blanca national park, here to met up con Johnny Oliva, accordionist/ vocalist for Los X4 conjunto. Now, let’s get to that interview.

BBB: como esta Johnny Oliva and thanks for giving us some time to conduct this interview here at la casa Blanca Park?
JO: Hey Blanca, I’m doing good here and gracias a usted for giving us this interview.

BBB: one of the newest bands in la onda, can you gives a bit of background on how you dudes met up?

JO: Mira Blanca, Los X4 had already existed as Los Cuatro Reales and had been performing around, under Joey Records but like most bands, some musicians come and go. I got called by Salvador Rodriguez our bass player to play accordion, I ended up being the singer and accordionist of the band bringing a new style, therefore a new change and a new name.

BBB: I notice on some of the information I dug up on you guys, and I found out that they call you “al puro gople” is this a band you jam before or a nick name given to you?

JO: "Al Puro Golpe" is a band out of San Antonio, TX. I worked with and struggled with for almost 3 years in keeping it together. When we came out with a CD in 2009 in which we all pitched money to make the album, it was going good. Then suddenly the manager decided to replace me with a new singer, I got lucky and joined Los X4.

BBB: being a conjunto that is established along la Mexican border, does the music from northern Mexico have any influences on your new style of music you guys have going now?

JO: Claro que si, of course. We have many influences such as Ramon Ayalas music, Los Tigirillos, and not to mention Los Cadetes De Linares in which we will be including a poppurri of their music on our newest album.

BBB: I noticed you guys have lots of plans on traveling the country and some in Mexico. What differences do you find with the different audiences that attend your dances, us vs. Mexico folks?

JO: None, I feel both audiences enjoy our music. Even if only one person shows up (which has never happened) but it doesn't matter, if we made someone feel good, we did our job

BBB: what’s the hardest thing you find having a new band, selecting band members, selection of songs, dates to perform and what to wear and on?

JO: Mainly song selections, deciding which songs to practice. We all put our input in song selections when we practice. Robert and I write songs; Robert and Salvador tend to pick more traditional songs as for Jerry and I tend to pick out more modern music. But it all works out good.

BBB: How much time do you guys have to devote to practice?

JO: I would say about 5 hours, every two days in the weekend. But we don't practice in the evening; we practice in the morning due to our busy work schedules. Even though it’s hard because our drummer Jerry sometimes doesn't want to get up from bed. (Laughing)

BBB: what do and your band members want from Los X4?

JO: Work, work, work and keeping our fans happy but the most important is keeping the conjunto/tejano music culture alive for other generations to keep the tradition going.

BBB: I am sure you have heard this question before, where would you like to see los X4 in five years?

JO: We just wish to be around with our fans and making music, si Dios quiere.

BBB: finally, if you were given the chance to speak to young people what would you say to them?

JO: Never give up on a goal. When things don't go your way, it’s only to make you stronger and never wait for an opportunity, create the opportunity.

BBB: I want to thank you for giving us time to conduct this interview and from our hearts to you sir we wish the best of luck con la onda? And give my regards to Salvador, Jerry, and Robert, the other band member of Los X4.

JO: No, al contrario thank you Blanca for this interview saludos a nuestros fans and we invite you all to check out myspace.com/losx4 and we invite you all to check out myspace.com/losx4 and real soon we will be bringing you new music, once again muchisimas gracias. p.s. Jerry said hi from his bed.

BBB: thank you sir, as I prepare to walk back to Kingsville, TX on foot I really did enjoy being back in Laredo, TX. For Chicano cable hot wired news network I am Blanca Blanch Blanco.

barrio stock market report for 02052010

Barrio stock market report for 02052010.
Cchwnn.
Kingsville,tx. Hello again raza y yo soy Urbano Yosabatodo con this week’s barrio stock market. This week has been a very bad week for barrio investors especially con the probe being done in the hood. It seems that many investors did not report many of their gains in there previous income tax reports. But that will be another story at another time. But for now let’s get to this dam report:
los taquitos ended the week stable at $1.49 each at most restaurants unless there is a special. Cup of coffee is not included in some places.
Las empanadas is the one que we monitor the most. First of all we will never ever again see them at 4 for a dollar. Second going rate for one is .79 cent each. In some convenient stores you can find them at 5 for $1.79, but not fresh.
Los tamales have dropped on price this quarter. The going price is $5.50 and have drop from the holiday prices of $6.00 a dozen. It’s just a matter of time before we will see the raise back to holiday prices.
La barbacoa by the pound is so hard to determine where this market is headed. Like we mention last week, que with that mad cow disease and other stuff going on, we are wondering how long it will be before they stop selling beef heads. La barbacoa by the pound is at $4.50 a lb.
Las flour tortillas by the dozen has seen its better days. We were informed que there is over 10 major tortillas companies in the hood try to win this market over. Our best suggestion is, that’s if anyone ones to hear it es que your better off in making them at home. But who really has the time to make them? Las flour tortillas going for $1.10 cent to $1.65 a dozen or a package.
And finally cheap beer. Well folks what can I say. Just in our hood there is three stores and ever-freaky store has different prices. Cheap beer remain stable for the quarter at $4.65 a six pack.

Barrio want ads:

Kingsville,TX. Hi I am Bill Diaz con today’s award winning barrio headline news:
Barrio Funeral home asked to close down.
Barrio man shot by mistake in gang related activity.
And finally, 2 immigrants found working for the city.
If things couldn’t get worse for our hood que they were fined a small fee for hiring 2 immigrants to do patch work on our barrio streets. My god says one barrio resident, dang man I could be doing that type of work. I can’t understand why our city employees would go and do this illegal hiring. By the way the two immigrants were taken across the tracks to be deported and city’s street patching project has come to a haul. The new barrio and city manager says que they will be hiring two more barrio folks to finish the job. Besides the fee assessed to the city, charges are pending con the city hiring person for hiring illegals.
Ben Olson Moreno was at the wrong place at the wrong time, says el constable cadena when he was shot at least ten times. This all happened at the corner of third and wells late last night. It seems that Mr. Moreno looked so much like the vato the only gang in the hood was looking for. It seems that the only gang in the hood shot Moreno by mistake and did realize it, so they took him to the Westinghouse barrio mall St. Paul’s medical center and dropped him off. Charges are pending concerning this shooting.
And finally, what seemed like a darn good idea but I guess the book keeping wasn’t, that is the case of Westinghouse barrio mall funeral home when it was shut down yesterday morning by some important looking men from across the track called themselves feds. Base on our investigation the funeral home was not keeping record of those folks answering to their ad where you could purchase prepaid funeral arrangements. More details will be released sometime this week.
Ok raza there we have it and awaiting the return of our old pal Pancholin Carretas con his vacation report. Chinga.

Kingsvile,tx. Hello raza como estan, y hope que everything is going alright. I am Bill Diaz back from assignment. Let’s quit the all this talking and get right back to our award winning headline news:
The chicken crossing the street gets it.
Local chicken farm reports missing chickens.
And finally, five barrio residents get arrested for helping those chickens.
Before you knew it , the local chapter of “lets save the chickens “ we arrested just out sides the barrio chicken farm as they attempted to save 100 chickens from getting slaughtered. Si, says el constable cadena, esta people climbed into the chicken yard and rounded up about 100 of them chickens into some plastic bags and tried to removed them from the chicken farm. But before they were able to gather the chickens they were surrounded by at least 10 chicken farm workers and were held there until el constable got there to arrested them for trespassing.
Yesterday afternoon around 5p.m. el constable was asked to investigate who let loose about 325 chickens from los Garcia’s chicken farm. Yes sir, says el constable we have not been able to track or see any off those chickens that got loose. We are wondering if someone stole them or just set them free. Again just for the record, a small group of women organized a group meant to protect those poor little chickens. El constable is asking for your help in locating those dam chickens. Please contact our office. A small chicken reward is being offered.
And finally, We have all heard about the chicken that crossed the street, well this one chicken didn’t make it. That’s the trouble with this side of the tracks says el constable cadena who was asked to investigate who ran over the chicken as it crossed the street. Oh just for the record , you can have farm animals inside the city limits.
Well there you have it, have a great tejano day.
