Tom Lucus McCain Trevino, was arrested yesterday afternoon at the corner of third and wells when some folks called el constable that there was someone at that corner showing off his middle finger to all the persons driving by. El constable arrested esta vato. But later released once they found out que he was deaf. He will go to court next week.
It seems que la commadre was so mad que she thought que el compadre, who came home late last night, was at the only barrio topless bar. So she figured que if el compadre wants to see so boobes, she surprised him when he walked inside the house topless. And finally, El ojo barrio private eye academic, will review its standards and rules that allows their want to be private eyes students to care a gun after one of them accidentally shot himself while taking a coffee break at the first floor of el Westinghouse barrio mall last night. We tried to contact el ojo barrio private eye, owner and director of the academic, but did not return our call. It seem que Little Johnnie Flores, ( 350lbs) a student at the academic shot himself with his gun in his pocket , when he tried to pay for his coffee at maria’s lunch stand in the mall. Charges are pending for caring a weapon at a public place.

We launched the study with the intention to show how unintelligent many of us are. Really, how dumb can a real smart barrio person be? These are the questions that I plan on answering con esta study. But first let me set the record straight. It took lots of elements to prepare for this study and it took chingos de time and beer to get folks to participate con las questions we had for them. But all and all here are our conclusions the seven questions.
1.We determined que raza that do more dancing at dances are less fat than raza que only go to dances and sit and watch and drink beer and eat chips.
2. We determined que many barrio adults still believe que children like clowns. We found out que, young people as old as 16 years of age dislike the use of barrio clowns for any kind of functions. Furthermore, many younger children are frightened by barrio clowns, especially at free dances.
3. We determined que many barrio women don’t like to be told they look fat in that one dress she always wears to ever freaking free dance. Its fun but a large amount of men will lie when asked by la commadre que “do I look fat in this honey”. Depending on how dumb you are compadre, few men when they are honest, are dumped by their girlfriends or la commadre.
4. we determined que many tejano dance goers think que many bars and dance halls owners over charge on beer, mix drinks, cokes and set ups and figure que if they can sneak in a beer or two will be ok. Even try a sneak a bottle of some favor alcohol and mix their own. Many believe that it is acceptable.
5. We determined que those vato’s that go to dances who consider themselves bullies and are always looking for fights are really disengaged and lack compassion for their victims and feel guilt for their actions regardless if they get their ass kicked.

It’s the proximity to and the availability of alcohol was partly to blame for why tejano bartenders and waitresses like their tipples.

Most tamale brokers are selling their stock at a real low rate this month but preparing to launch an interest on price before you know it. If you can, scoop up as much as you measurably can, all this will guarantee a whole lot of tamales for this xmas season. Oh by the way the tamale guy never came back. Los tamales ended the week at $5.50 a dozen a dollar down from last week.
Las tortillas: With the increase of wheat and gain this market has suffered a bit this month. Since the start of this quarter las tortillas have gotten much better. In terms of not too many found stuck together like several year ago. Who says nobody reads our barrio stock market. The tortilla war of 2005 really made a differences with this market. Las tortillas ended the week at $1.55 a pack.

But tonight a miracle was done.
It takes more balls,
to say and admit to things that really not there.
Why, We ask ourselves is it that when we get out of our realm,
Many try to be something that we are really are not.
Bu the sad part is when we really weren’t inside that realm from get go.
It’s hard to understand things until it hits you in the face.
Than at that point we try to correct matters.
But when dealing with that matter, it don’t really matter anymore.
The realm of life will be a burden to some.
Yet we are grown folks that need to understand our own burden.
Let no one say I didn’t try, but let no one say I did know him well .
Cause wellness only comes in theory,
but will you ever be as smart as I ?
So let me finish this selfness through my friend.

Esta manifesto is for tejano music lovers. How have we grown? Just ask yourself where is tejano now? Jesus Christ. Its come on a rapid grown. We all know that debating this is issue has made many of us and not less than more, understand que the growth of tejano is only what you make it, but what its going to prepared to be.
That has been one of our longest theme in dealing con los que are lost in the world off not wanting to understand. But yet this year compared to the posting on issues at this time of year,we have had a whole different approach and come a long way.
We all seem to understand but there are those that insist on wanting to be on the lime light on an issue que you don’t know shit about. But you prevail and move on to other uninformed matters that really don’t matter, only to your uninformed agendia is what matters.

Barrio milkman arrested for delivering weed.
Barrio woman loses la onda, and collides con el train.
And finally barrio drunk arrested.
It seems que la commadre Carmen Molina, age 89, collided con the only train that travels through the hood early yesterday morning. She told this reporter que she heard the whistle but thought it was those crack heads that hang out by the tracks whistling at her. Not realizing it was the train, she collided her three wheel bicycle into the side of the train. She was not seriously injured but the bike didn’t make it. Pieces of the three wheeler ended up all over the place. Charges are pending.
In other news, Our constable cadena tells us que Chris Garcia, a retired milkman for over 30 years, was arrested this past Saturday when one of our off barrio security force 666 stopped Mr. Garcia and his old milk truck for running a stop sign on our side of the tracks. During the regular inspection one of the officers bought a small bottle of milk, to his surprise found a small amount of marijuana inside the bottle. El senor garica was arrested for possession and supplying marijuana, driving without a licenses, no inspection sticker on the truck, expired milk union membership card, charged with acting as a milkman, selling milk without a permit, and many more charges still pending. The constable is going to go over the list of person he was delivering the so call milk. The constable is asking for your help in turning yourself in to him if you were one of his customers. It seems that the at this point Mr. Garcia‘s customers were elderly persons suffering from aches and pain.
And finally, the only public barrio drunk , Nancy Adams Rivera, was arrested Sunday morning around 11:50am when the owner of the only GO and STOP refused to sell her beer. She was informed que we don’t sell beer on Sundays till 12 noon. Nancy took it on her own to call 918 and complain about the owner of the go and stop not wanting to sell her beer before noon. Once the el constable got there, they arrested Nancy with disorderly conduct and was later released on bond. The constable told us que the store owner had already called them up to complaint about this woman wanting to buy beer before 12:00noon.
There you have it raza, cant buy beer before 12 noon on Sunday in some places, have a great tejano day and counting towards tejano roots. It could be our year.

Hello you all how we doing, this country pancho with you all barrio headline news: Barrio family trade in car burns down before it got to the dealer. 200 chickens make a quick getaway. Oh and finally a fund raiser for Little patty watty, chicken barbque plates for sale this Wednesday. It’s a miracle says la senora Roberta Quinoner, we just didn’t know how to get the money to send little patty watty to a cheerleading camp this weekend at the Westinghouse barrio mall. But the family tells us that with the grace of god, he sends us about 50 chickens, which the family plans of barbequing this coming Wednesday. If you are interested on purchasing a chicken barbeque plate for just for $10. Just call us at the cchwnn command post. It’s a miracle! In some bizarre accident, La family Arispe, J.J. the owner of el barrio fowls farm crashed their delivery truck early Sunday morning around 2A.m. and about 200 chickens survived the crash an made a run for it. The owners called el constable cadena to report the accident. Up to this moment, none of the 200 or so chickens have been capture. A small reward is being offered for the return of some or all the escaped chickens, if you have any information pertaining to this matter please contact el constable. In other news, It seems that some folks just don’t know how to smoke cigarette, this is the case de la familia Reed. Once the smoke cleared and the family managed to get a tow truck to haul the burn down 1978 ford whatever to the dealer for a trade. The dealer gave them $15. for the car and they used it to put on a down payment for that new 1979 ford whichever, which the dealer told them it was once owned preacher. It seems that our creator has changed the title for Wednesdays mall news coverage. So with that in mind lets go to our friends at the Westinghouse barrio.
Hi, an am I a bit disappointed con the creator and the action he has taken in doing away con our report but have chosen to split the Wednesdays report con the new guys in town. But besides all that we have lots of things going on at our and only mall the Westinghouse barrio mall. First of all, lets go con maria la vandia.
Si Gloria, I understand how you feel con esta creator but that’s another story. But for now we would like you to know that we are bring back El TAQUCHA BASEBALL BARRIO LEAGUE STARTING NEXT WEEK, so if you have a make believe team please let us know so we can include them on our roster, ok back to Gloria.

Rosa buentello here, at the breaking ground ceremonies for a new barrio mall coming soon. “ocean front properties mall” has its plans on opening its doors today, this “Ash Wednesday 2009” and will be giving free stuff away to every single person that walks into the new mall area and gets some ass,oops I meant ash. There will be all kind of religious person here to do the ceremonies.
The mall will be a two level mall and will have around ten to twenty stores per floor. It seems that our creator has changed the title for Wednesdays mall news coverage. So with that in mind lets go to our friends at the Westinghouse barrio.
Hi, an am I a bit disappointed con the creator and the action he has taken in doing away con our report but have chosen to split the Wednesdays report con the new guys in town. Rosa buentello here, at the breaking ground ceremonies for a new barrio mall coming soon. “ocean front properties mall” has its plans on opening its doors today, this “Ash Wednesday 2009” and will be giving free stuff away to every single person that walks into the new mall area and gets some ass,oops I meant ash. There will be all kind of religious person here to do the ceremonies.
The mall will be a two level mall and will have around ten to twenty stores per floor. It will have all kind of tejano stuff that you can update your tejano wardrobes , boots, hats, belts, and lots of tejano cd and the most exciting thing is that some barrio award winning music groups will have their our stores here. We would like to present you with our creator’s acceptation speech for last year’s Barrio Literacy and Writer prize award for 2008. Now here is that speech: Thank you mi raza, tejanos y bill collectors, First of all I would like to accept this non monetary prize in behave of all my staff and myself for the long selfish hours we spend working on trying to uncover some deeper truths about life and about ourselves . In our studies we try to study life stories of our la raza, as well as our experience as la raza, and what la raza goes through life. Did you know, I am sure you have, que we have realized que there are more interesting truths to be revealed than to be found in el barrio in itself, as well as our self’s. We at the Chicano Cable hot wired News Network believe in the deconstructionism of our English language, as long as you clean up after you’re done. And we do not believe that masterpieces exist, nor do we want them to. We prefer the glory of brilliant mistakes, because without mistakes one will never really learn the englisss language. Los Curita’s. my recent visit to Fort Collins, Colorado. Our visit con a very young tejano band named Los Curtia’s. So with that in mind lets go to fort Collins, where you can see the beautiful Rocky Mountians, with our new friends Juan and Juaquin.
BBB: I want to thank you guys, members of Los Curita’s for sharing some time with me here in your home in Fort Collins, Colorado?
Los C’s: First all, we want to thank you blanca, blanch blanco for taking the time to interview us. Are you bitter cold yet in our recent snowfall that landed almost 7 inches of snow today?BBB: Who has been the major inspiration in your young musical career?Los C’s: Juan: My (Pampo) Grandpa .Juaquin: My (Pampo) Grandfather and of course other artists like Jay Perez, Little Joe and Latin Breed.BBB: -We see that you named your group was named and founded by your grandfather. Long-time tejano musician and Colorado chicano music hall famer, Henry Salas (aka: pampo), how did his influences moderate your band?Los C’s? Juan: Well, our pampo helps us a lot with our music and our musicians and what he thinks we would like. But, he always lets us make the final decision on song selections etc... he's pretty old school-lol!Juaquin: My (Pampo) grandfather has always had a passion for Tejano music. He has a fantastic ear and we have been fortunate to have him teach us a lot. I don't think I could have learned what I've learned without him. He's also pretty honest and to the point with us. He takes his music pretty serious.BBB: – You started your musical career as a young children, What attracted you to these instruments?Los C’s: Juan: When my (Pampo) grandfather introduced me to the guitar and the bass, he had me play a polka and follow along with him. I really liked the song and I couldn't believe that I picked it up like nothing. I never put the instruments down after that. Juaquin = I have always had a passion to sing since I was about 3 years old. I don't know, my (Pampo) grandfather just always had me sing along to his guitar and then when I had my first opportunity to actually get on stage, it was at the Cinco De Mayo celebration in Fort Collins. After that, it was like no other experience!BBB: – Do you have a favourite piece of music that you guys perform?Los C’s: Yes! We love to get the crowd and the energy going and it's usually to a cumbia!
BBB: Are you guys pleased with choice of music and performaces you have done?Los C’s: Of course, we love Tejano music, but we can play a lot of other genres too. That's the cool thing about being a Tejano musician you can put tejano in just about anything.
BBB: How busy do you guys get in prepared a show?”Los C’s: We get pretty busy when we have a show because we have to practice a lot.
BBB: Do you have a definite start for any new release AND How about your latest cd/video?Los C”s: We don't have an actual date set to release our CD, but we hope to have it out by summer of 2009. We are working on our CD with some great established musicians right now. As far as a video, it is also in the works.BBB: -What can we expect from the forthcoming?Los C’s: You can expect more music coming from us soon! We also have a remix of Cuatro Vida's coming out that's slick! Our investigations have lead us to questioned several gangs who’s activities have increased its violence this passed few weeks. One group has ties con a radical ass- hole group called T.I.C.HECK. I.E. WE ARE NOT sure what they stand for but we do know que this group is well formed inside our hood. And could have been involved in this shooting. This weekend a fatal shoot of several make believe conjunto members we shoot at the last game of the evening at to Westinghouse barrio mall cona Lozano sports complex this passed Saturday night. Now with that report lets go con Frankie tuxedo zungia.Si razz, I am Frankie tuxedio zuniga covering the sniper shooting of several conjunto members while they were playing soccer this past Saturday. The number of person shot has not been made clear yet but we do have confirmation that at least three were killed and two were wounded up to this point.Killed were two members of los tres vato’s conjunto, Eduardo vato, y eddie vato and ed vato was seriously wounded. Also killed was the leader of the band el mojado Moreno Martinez. No other member of this band were hurt.At the present time the whole barrio is under lock down and chingos de cops, narcs, y el constable con barrio task force 666 del ojo barrio private school are doing a house by house search for the sniper or snipers. La senoira Martha Owens is recovering real well from her surgery after a 20 pound tumor was removed from her stomach this past weekend. Martha was relieved to find out that it was only a tumor and not a baby like her real doctor told her.
In other barrio news, La familia Gomez were so happy to see that la senoira Perez, returned a ceramic dildo back to them. It seems that la familia Gomez mother was some kind of a sex pervert and wanted her ashes stuff into her sex ceramic toy. Well when the children of la familia Gomez decided to clean out the back room, while she was on vacation, they found this toy. Well they wanting no part of it, they decided to sell it at their front yard sale. After the senior Gomez came back from vacation she was wondering what happen to her mother’s ashes. Thank god it’s back, she said.
And finally, El senor Paulino Martin was arrested yesterday for failure to show up for Jury duty after he send the barrio county judge que he claimed to be a homophobic, a racist, and a habitual liar and loved to smoke dope. The county judge order him arrested for his self confession for smoking dope, charges are pending. One foot note it’s so easy to go to jury duty, than avoid jury dury.

Authorities are telling us que after they raided the studio this morning around 10:30am, they found the bodies of several persons. One of the bodies was that of panzone caliente, ms griffin rueleas was found a short time after in one of the closets of the studio and her body guard was also wounded. All three have been taken to an undisclosed center for medical attention across the tracks.
Authorities have also placed a curfew to all residents on our side of the track and have cancelled all spring break programs for at least two days. The authorities are not saying much about this terrorists. But they did release an offical statetment on this matter:

Our report tells us que three security guards along con el ojo junior barrio private eye were killed when the explosion struck the parking lot.

It is often the case that some parts of perceptivity such as speech and self care must be relearned in this case we are not sure if that will be possible. We have learned in the pass que here in el barrio About 5% to 10% of all coma patients are incapable of conscious behavior, and end up vegetative, which most of the public think of as prolonged coma.

First of all let me explain what is a coma. A Coma is an extended period of unconsciousness from which a person cannot be aroused even with the most painful stimuli. Panzones injurious come from one of five guns that stuck mr. panzone caused a servere head injury.
In pazone’s case he has small caliber bullet logged in his brain. The bullet is a bit off The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system. First of all let me explain what is a coma. A Coma is an extended period of unconsciousness from which a person cannot be aroused even with the most painful stimuli. Panzones injurious come from one of five guns that stuck mr. panzone caused a servere head injury.

Cchwnn: exclusive interview con El ONDAMAN. 03242006Hello once again raza como estan, I am Bill Diaz con an exclusive interview we conducted a few days ago in New Mexico con a Tejano Fanatic, named El Ondaman. A few days ago on our way back from cyber space we decided to stop in the New Mexico, the land of enchantment. If you ever want to see the most beautiful sunset, visit the state of New Mexico. Man oh man it?s a site to see. Our visit con El ondaman lets us discover lots of things that many of us just didn?t know about him. Con todo esto here is our interview. Somewhere along the border of Texas and New Mexico.
Bd: hello Mr. ondaman how is we today, and I just want to thank you for allowing us to visit with you and conduct this interview: Ondaman: hello there Mr. Diaz. BTW, we're situated much more towards the border of Arizona con New Mexico. Gracias for the interview. When I saw your old ford station wagon I said mira esos locos. What are they smoking in that pipa? Luego I recognized that it was the cchwnn crew.
Bd: that?that’s great, ondaman, no wonder it seemed like a long way over here. Lets start right off con your dialog with another poster named Albert. It seems que sometimes you have gotten into some real heavy debate issues, would you want to comment on this?
Ondaman: Well, Albert's a good guy, but I don't agree with all of the comments he's made. Tejano is a small market compared to Norteño, but the thing is that Tejano music grows on you and once it does you just can't stop having enough. As for Norteño music you tend to get bored of it fast. The only thing Norteño is good for is when you wanna go drinking with your buddies y quieres get drunk and party. And even then we tend to get bored of it and the rest of the night it's Puro Tejano Jams and English jams blaring from the speakers. This all in my opinion of course.
Bd: being raised in new mexico, would you say que the music you listen to was a bit different then what it is in texas?
Ondaman: There are similarities in the New Mexico music and Tejano music. The difference is that the New Mexico music beat is way too fast for my liking and a little too off-beat. Also, the vocalists here don't hold a candle to Tejano music's top vocalists. There's potential singers/bands, but they need to work at it here.
Bd: I see that you live in el paso, texas, as a Texan, how did you get so involved con la onda tejana?
Ondaman: Well the first time I lived in El Paso I was still in elementary school and would hear it on KBNA when my parents had the station playing in the car. I was too young and not into the music, but when we lived there in 1993 I was already in High School and some of the first bands that caught my attention were La Sombra, Shelly Lares, Mazz, Ram Herrera, La Mafia, Little Joe, Los Fabulosos Cuatro, Selena, Culturas, Fama, Laura Canales, Pio Treviño y Majic, David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Fandango USA, etc. From then forward I have never stopped buying all this great Tejas style of music.
Bd:wow those are some heavy folks there. In your observation from the different postings on la onda tejana, what direction do you think que La onda is headed? Ondaman: That is a difficult question. As a Tejano music listener, I would like to say I see nothing but good things for Tejano music's future, but as a realist, unless we get more promotion for the music we love, Tejano music is at a standstill. Tejano music has a vast amount of potential, but many people don't promote it. Yes, we have the internet and online radio and all of these tools have greatly helped our onda. We are in a better state than what we were seven years ago, but we need more than just online, since not all Tejanos have the internet. Musicwise, I think Tejano music is getting better and better. That magic of the 80's needs to be sprinkled on today's recordings also. Get some great producers and arrangers, because there are many bands with potential. Also, the fans NEED to support by hearing Tejano radio in their cars or at work, buy the CD's with your favorite artists and songs, and attend Tejano events and concerts. We fans can make a major positive difference.
Bd: if you were in charge of present music business, what changes would you make in terms of la onda tejana ? exposure, marketing,etc?.if any ? Ondaman: Marketing for sure. Promote Tejano music as much as I could. Get people to know Tejano music. Make it their first choice in any music selection. Definitely make sure that the real Tejano stations get each and every artists demos. Make sure that the stations and DJ's have an email address where the artists can email their songs for airplay. I would also make sure the CD's were stocked in every Wal-Mart across the nation and also every Music shop in every Mall across the country. Make sure every mom & pop store was well stocked. BTW, I would put a new single in rotation every four months. I hear singles off of artists new CD's and that's the only song, from the whole CD, and they'll play it for almost 10 months.
Bd: what are some of your plans for this 2006 tejano year? Ondaman: Keep buying Tejano music and making others aware of the great CD's coming out. Also making sure that the radio DJ contacts I know, are playing the new music from both upcoming artists AND also established artists.
Bd: well sir it has been a pleasure spending sometime with you sir, is there any final words you would want to share us? Ondaman: Just to keep nuestra onda going and do not let anyone bring us down in our efforts. Diosito es muy grande and he will help us keep nuestra musica going. I was too young and not into the music, but when we lived there in 1993 I was already in High School and some of the first bands that caught my attention were La Sombra, Shelly Lares, Mazz, Ram Herrera, La Mafia, Little Joe, Los Fabulosos Cuatro, Selena, Culturas, Fama, Laura Canales, Pio Treviño y Majic, David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Fandango USA, etc. From then forward I have never stopped buying all this great Tejas style of music.
Bd:wow those are some heavy folks there. In your observation from the different postings on la onda tejana, what direction do you think que La onda is headed? Ondaman: That is a difficult question. As a Tejano music listener, I would like to say I see nothing but good things for Tejano music's future, but as a realist, unless we get more promotion for the music we love, Tejano music is at a standstill. Tejano music has a vast amount of potential, but many people don't promote it. Yes, we have the internet and online radio and all of these tools have greatly helped our onda. We are in a better state than what we were seven years ago, but we need more than just online, since not all Tejanos have the internet. Musicwise, I think Tejano music is getting better and better. That magic of the 80's needs to be sprinkled on today's recordings also. Get some great producers and arrangers, because there are many bands with potential. Also, the fans NEED to support by hearing Tejano radio in their cars or at work, buy the CD's with your favorite artists and songs, and attend Tejano events and concerts. We fans can make a major positive difference.
Bd: if you were in charge of present music business, what changes would you make in terms of la onda tejana ? exposure, marketing,etc?.if any ? Ondaman: Marketing for sure. Promote Tejano music as much as I could. Get people to know Tejano music. Make it their first choice in any music selection. Definitely make sure that the real Tejano stations get each and every artists demos. Make sure that the stations and DJ's have an email address where the artists can email their songs for airplay. I would also make sure the CD's were stocked in every Wal-Mart across the nation and also every Music shop in every Mall across the country. Make sure every mom & pop store was well stocked. BTW, I would put a new single in rotation every four months. I hear singles off of artists new CD's and that's the only song, from the whole CD, and they'll play it for almost 10 months.
Bd: what are some of your plans for this 2006 tejano year? Ondaman: Keep buying Tejano music and making others aware of the great CD's coming out. Also making sure that the radio DJ contacts I know, are playing the new music from both upcoming artists AND also established artists.
Bd: well sir it has been a pleasure spending sometime with you sir, is there any final words you would want to share us? Ondaman: Just to keep nuestra onda going and do not let anyone bring us down in our efforts. Diosito es muy grande and he will help us keep nuestra musica going. Cchwnn: exclusive interview con el Grupo Sueno>03272006 Hello raza I am Blanca Blanch Blanco con today's very special exclusive interview con Tejano RoZe, Dream Team Management Team, de grupo Sueno, now lets go to that interview somewhere around dallas, texas> BBB: Hello ms. TR, can you give us a little background on when the grupo Sueno?TR: Grupo Sueno has been around for going on 5 years. These guys have more than paid their dues. Being on their own label, they tend to work hard for what they are paying out of their pockets to do. Bbb: that's an odd statement, why is that? TR: Why? Because they really believe in this band. Grupo Sueño is a brotherhood within. These guys are like brothers, always hanging out together, partake in each other's family lives. When you see one of them out and about, you are to surely see most of the band hanging out with him. BBB: D o you believe this kind of friendships holds a band together? TR: I truly believe that one of the main reasons why these guys are being successful is because of the chemistry they have on stage. They know each other's thoughts, and respect the front men. There are 7 leaders in this band, no dictators. They all listen and respect one another. Right before they go on stage, they bow down and pray to our Lord, and then they all say "Let's have some fun"! Bbb: that is far out, can you give us a breakdown on the band members and the role they play within the band? TR: Carl Gomez and Isaac Gonzalez are the 2 vocalists in the band. Carl is the main, and Isaac is back-up. Isaac, aka "Iceman", is the coordinator and songwriter of the band. Besides playing Bass, he also belts out a tune or 2. He's got a great voice range. Alvino Torres (Guitarist), and Gabriel Gonzalez (keys) are ex-original Stampede members. We were lucky enough to recruit them and we are happy that they really believe in this band. Timmy Trevino is our drummer. For only being 15 yrs old, this kid can hang with the big guns. I can imagine this kid winning awards when he's 20. He's awesome and a great asset to the band. Matt Calderon (percussionist) and Abel Casillas (squeeze box man) have been with the band since their conception. Abel has composed a great polkita, which will be in the CD. So much talent in this band.Benny Treviño (Manager) and Joe Chapa (Manager#2 and Promoter) have so much faith in Sueño. They bust their butts trying to help the guys reach the top. I consider myself lucky to associate myself with such admirable human beings. They help create the band. Bbb: how versital is el Grupo Sueno? TR: Grupo Sueño is the most versital band in DFW. They are listed under Tejano and R&B. When they are not performing at Tejano venues, the same band members have created a band called "Tekila Sol" when they perform out of the Tejano genre. They play anything from K.C and The Sunshine Band to Maroon 5. And as great they sound on stage in Tejano, they really kick azz in R&B, Top 40, Funk, and Pop. There are no limits to this band. BBB: Can you give us an idea of some of the travel the band has had within the last few years? TR; They have traveled all around Texas and many states up north with their music. Earning one fan at a time. When these guys get off stage, they love to mingle, dance with their fans, and be themselves, when I have seen other bands go to the bus, or backstage and refuse to sign autographs until the end of the night. They are great guys. Ordinary Joes with a dream. BBB: OK you know in the pass we have shared our views on different matters, can you share some information about you? TR: About me. Hmmmm..well where should I begin? LolI am from West Texas and I am in love with TEJANO MUSIC. Being such a Tejano Diva, I have been involved in the Tejano industry for over 20 years, and I have aquired such great friends in the business. I am an awesome vocalist and have performed with my own and many other bands. I now have been working with Dallas' Elite band, Grupo Sueño, for 3.5 years. I wear many hats here, and being such a devoted member, I am now part of the band's management team. Working close to the band manager, and promoter has taught me so much. I am now a promoter amongst other roles. Grupo Sueño is a rising Tejano Talent that will make a mark in the industry. BBB: Do you think your passed experiences has helped el grupo sueno? TR: I am proud that I have made a difference with them. In addition, I created Grupo Sueño's website for the fans who want to know more about the band. I have dedicated it to the fans, because without them, the band would not have existed. That is why you will see many fans' pictures posted on there. Because it is about THEM. I love the website. I have spent countless hours building it, and it just keeps on growing. We have the largest Tejano band website around,and we are proud of it. BBB: Can you give us an idea of your kinda style of music? TR: I am a soulful singer with a strong voice and great range. Not only do I perform with tejano bands, I also performed with Mariachis. I think I like singing Mariachi better. :) I work for a great Spanish speaking newspaper (#1 in N. Texas), and one of the thrills of working there, I have met many great artists. This also has many great advantages. I am an avid Tejano supporter, and I have been for many years and will continue to be till the end of my time. and not only that,I know I will also someday return to performing with my own band again BBB: Now tell us about this Dream Dolls idea? TR: Ever heard of the Bud light girls? Well.........New to the Tejano scene, are Grupo Sueño's Dream Dolls. Letty Mota and Vero Vargas have been enlightening the band's fans with their hard work in Grupo Sueño's merchandise sales, promotions, and dancing on stage. These ladies have done an outstanding job in promoting the band and doing charitable work for the community. Sueño Dream Dolls have been a part of the band since 2005. Look for them at our big shows and outside events!Bbb: When is the CD coming out? TR: Now that's a great question! LOLBeing that we have no support by recording labels, or anything like that, the guys are pretty much paying out of their pockets. I had no idea how expensive it is to record one CD. But we feel it's a good thing because we will not wind up owing any label anything and being a chicken on a hotplate, so to speak. No one is making money off of the guys, so what they make, is exactly what they keep. It's tough to keep up with the expenses, so that is back up mula. Lol! The CD is complete, but there are those "plus, plus, plus", and that gets very expensive. But I guarantee it will be out very soon! OK????LOL I have already heard the tracks and they sound so awesome. Most of the songs are definitely hits! This will be a "must have"! So to all you Sueño Faz and Sueño Tribers, patience is a virtue! Your anticipation will pay off! I promise! “On all your travels”….Steven, Pepe and I were welcomed warmly by the Gente in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. We were honored to be at the Tejano R.O.O.T.S Hall of Fame Ceremony in Alice, and we met a lot of real good people. We got to party con Mario & MaryAnn “DHOC” Gonzalez, Bobby Butler, Ham Guerrero and his son Alfredo, their lovely Ladies, and the guys from The Latin Express Band were simply “in the zone”. Of course Crazy Chuy Hernandez and I came in our customary Zoot Suits, and The Latin Express Band opened things up with a “pachuco boogie” song in our honor, publicly welcoming Steven Chavez, Pepe Marquez, and myself. Everywhere we went and met the Gente, the food , drink, and love flowed. It was a truly memorable experience. On the way back, we stopped in San Antonio and were guests of Robert and Dolores Gonzalez, and they made us a feast, and gifts of music. Crazy Chuy Hernandez and his family gave us a real nice personal tour of Dallas and San Antonio.
“Your exploration of Texas”….
First of all, Texas is BIG!! We made stops in Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio, Adrian, Waco, Waxahachie, and of course Alice. Every town I went to, I put on the radio and checked out the local radio action. It’s very evident that La Onda is alive, but for some reason, people seem somewhat disconnected. I don’t know, maybe it’s the distance, but people in Adrian, for instance, had no idea what was happening in San Antonio, Houston, or Alice. I had mentioned to a few people that Lil’ Joe, Ruben Ramos and occasionally Sunny Osuna make it out our way and to Las Vegas, and I got a puzzled look, almost of disbelief, like they were unaware that TEJANO has spread so far outside of Texas proper. Crazy Chuy Hernandez has helped with that BIG TIME, and he has also helped us come into the Texas market with our West Coast sound. Pepe Marquez and Steven Chavez were really surprised and touched that so many people came up to them at the Tejano R.O.O.T.S. ceremony and complimented them on their music. I was really honored to have met so many people that told me they listen to my show It’s all about connecting, forming bonds, and spreading the music. That’s what will keep our people connected for generations to come .I was really impressed with the Latin Express Band and the Saenz family. 4 generations of musicians!
“The latest spin”…
First of all, I’m really pleased that the Gente in Texas are joining us in Califas in separating the AMERICAN~CHICANO music scene from the traditional MEXICAN and South American scene. Don’t get me wrong, there are some talented artists for sure, and I mean NO disrespect, but I just can’t wrap my mind around cowboy hats and Norteno, Banda, and Quebredita , and brass that sounds like it’s from 1800’s Germany or Austria. ( I really try not to giggle when I hear somebody booming this in their car in L.A.) Sorry. That’s just not me.
Secondly, since the political~protest scene doesn’t really specify ( and it’s no secret that I hate the word “Hispanic”) , the Chicano Music scene , bi-lingual and all, is truly an AMERICAN product, made in America, by Americans of Mexican decent. I am not being an elitist, but it used tick me off when the national TV networks would air the “Latin Grammys” in the U.S. , to a U.S. audience, supposedly representing the American Latino music tastes, and all the winners were from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and South America, with music I had NEVER heard. Where was the Chicano segment, I used to wonder? Who were they trying to fool? Like I said, I’m not being an elitist, and I welcome any artist from every corner of the planet to please keep alive and share the art of music, but not at the exclusion of anybody else, know what I mean?

There are a lot of shows, concerts, books, movies, and CD’s coming out that will expose the World to Chicano music on a level never before seen, and it all starts in 2006 ! And I will continue as a contributing writer on www.LatinoLA.com , joining some of the finest contemporary writers in Aztlan today. I’m in good company!

First of all, it takes a lot of heart to publicly announce your views and opinions in any website, make no mistake about that. You always run the risk of somebody publicly challenging or contradicting you, and feelings sometimes get hurt. This handful, as you say, has actually set the tone for dialogue that is needed in any forum, if the issues are to produce any positive action. All websites are a form of journalism, and the primary function of Journalism is to inform, educate, and entertain. If it hadn’t been for MaryAnn “DHOC” Gonzalez’s TEJANOVIEW website, myself, and a WHOLE LOT of people in Califas would have never heard about the state of TEJANO music, Crazy Chuy, or La Onda Tejano in general. I applaud any and all of those who post.
“Comparing la ondas”….
It’s really no secret that las Ondas de Califas y Tejas are so much alike…we’re just closer to the beach and have more of a Black influence in Califas, while Los Tejanos have more of a country and Mexico influence. But we ARE Chicanos, we love music, and as Chicanos, we take what’s there, mix it up, turn it inside out, and do it OUR WAY! Music is geographical, and it just makes sense to see what an audience appreciates, but it doesn’t hurt to experiment. I mean, you’re never going to get a Black Rap group from Chicago or New York to perform at a KKK rally in Mississippi , and expect great ticket and CD sales, right?...then again…ya never know! Music progresses, yet there is an appreciation for a classic element. A middle ground is what Chuy and I are trying to accomplish, and listener participation and support is what’s needed. As I’ve said before, CHICANOS can do it all, in 2 languages. We should try to expound upon that , instead if taking a isolative stance.

In Califas, because of density of population, the varied population that it is, and the fact it just happens to be where Hollywood is , there is by far more attention given as the “entertainment capitol of the world” for sure. Up until the 1960’s , Chicanos, who make up a major part of the population in Southern Califas, were excluded and disregarded as a group artistically, and simply labeled “Mexicans”, thus, stereotyped into Spanish language EVEYTHING. After such events as the Chicano Civil Rights Movement, The Chicano Moratorium, Cesar Chavez’s UFW, The student walk outs beginning in 1968, The Viet Nam War (where a high number of CHICANOS earned Medals of Honor for bravery in combat), The Chicano Riots on Whittier Boulevard, and the birth of the West Coast East Side Sound ( a truly unique CHICANO experience in American music) , English speaking, American educated, capable and talented Mexican-American artists became more credible, thanks to visionaries like the late Eddie Davis, founder of RAMPART RECORDS, and Black entertainment legends like Johnny Otis.
I know this doesn’t sit well with a lot of “Hispanics”, “Mexican Americans”, “Spanish Americans”, or ‘Latins”, but CHICANOS relish a good fight, especially if there’s an underdog involved, and our side is it. That is not to say that every fight takes the form of physical violence, indeed, don’t let the racial stereotype of the “Aztec Warrior” color your impression of that statement.
One of the biggest things TEJANOS can do to gain support for their struggle is to LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT IN AN INTELLIGENT, NON-THREATENING MANNER. I remember at the Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame Ceremony, as I was leaving, some guy in a cowboy hat and too tight shirt, heavily intoxicated and reeking of alcohol, came over and put his arm around my shoulder and literally BREATHED in my face while slurring “…ese..carnal…let the Gente aya en Califas know we got it going on down here tambien..” He had no idea how idiotic he looked, how offensive he was, and my good friend Ham Guerero had joke, “Hey, carnal…. aren’t you glad he wasn’t up on stage with you?”. How could this brother ever expect ANYBDY to take him seriously?
“Is it possible”…
By all means, Internet and Satellite radio is World Wide , and formats are not limited to just their neighborhoods. They are the future, and the future is here.

As I said earlier, I just celebrated my first year anniversary with Chicano Express Radio, and the results are more than ever dreamed of ! Of course Chuy Hernandez and his family are most gracious hosts, y la Cultura Chicana is alive and well in their house. Chuy has amassed an impressive library of music that his children will be blessed to inherit, and he has instilled the virtues of respect, education, and responsibility, as well as the love of music, into all his children. He has almost single handedly brought Tejano Radio to Califas!

Hall of Fame Ceremony, as I was leaving, some guy in a cowboy hat and too tight shirt, heavily intoxicated and reeking of alcohol, came over and put his arm around my shoulder and literally BREATHED in my face while slurring “…ese..carnal…let the Gente aya en Califas know we got it going on down here tambien..” He had no idea how idiotic he looked, how offensive he was, and my good friend Ham Guerero had joke, “Hey, carnal…. aren’t you glad he wasn’t up on stage with you?”. How could this brother ever expect ANYBDY to take him seriously?

By all means, Internet and Satellite radio is World Wide , and formats are not limited to just their neighborhoods. They are the future, and the future is here.

As I said earlier, I just celebrated my first year anniversary with Chicano Express Radio, and the results are more than ever dreamed of ! Of course Chuy Hernandez and his family are most gracious hosts, y la Cultura Chicana is alive and well in their house. Chuy has amassed an impressive library of music that his children will be blessed to inherit, and he has instilled the virtues of respect, education, and responsibility, as well as the love of music, into all his children. He has almost single handedly brought Tejano Radio to Califas!
