Kingsville, TX. Good day folks my name is Bill Diaz and I am back from vacation. Now for our barrio award winning headline news:
Rats and roaches invade the hood.
Two barrio cowboys come to blows.
And finally barrio fun run re-schedule and re-named for this weekend.
It was announced that the fourth of July fun run was going to be move to april 5, and the April fool’s day fun run would be moved to the fourth of July. There was really no reasons given just that the “here boy fun run” was still going to be held through the hood and all the barrio folks have been asked to let their dogs loose so this year’s finishing times would be a bit faster than last year. So if you are not ready for the run you still have several months to get ready for that April fool’s day run in July. Pesse hejola.
Two of the most famous barrio cowboys came to blows yesterday afternoon at the OK Bar, located at the corner of third and wells. Country Pancho y County Leroy started an argument and then a fight broke out between both of them when they could not agree on who wrote a certain song that was playing on the jukebox. At the end both were taken into custody and arrested for disturbing the peace. Oh by the way we never did figure out what song they were arguing about. In addition they will have to pay for repairs of the jukebox when it was turned over on its side during the fight.
Yesterday a barrio meeting was held to determine how they could get rid of the increase on roaches and rats that have suddenly appeared in the hood. There were many suggestions and ideas but the one thing that did stick out the most was to keep your home nice and clean, and your yards nice and cut. The majority of the folks left when talk about volunteers need to help folks join the barrio beautification project.
Well there you have it raza.

Kingsville, TX. Hi my name is Johnnie el Quemon, con today’s award winning barrio headline news:
La commadre arrested for nudity.
Several compadres awarded for feyos.
And finally youth programs closes its doors.
Yesterday afternoon el barrio Cruz Rojas community center were informed que their doors were going to be closed in two weeks due to the fact que their didn’t have any more funds to operate the center. Leo Saenz director of the center of the afternoon program told us que the center would still be open but the afternoon programs were not, it lack the funds to operate it. But told us que he still had faith que god might just create a miracle.
In other news, the annual feyo contest was held in a secret bar and announced the winners of this year’s Feyo contest, who were Johnnie be Good Morales, and Juan Pena, both men were awarded a free trip to the pluga across the tracks and a few meal at the local net and boat. Congratulations feyos.
And finally, la commadre was arrested late last night at the corner of third and wells when several people called el constable to let him know que there was a woman at the corner of the block naked. Once the constable got there he found la commadre drunk out of her ass. She was taken to the lalala land hospital unit across the tracks for observations. El constable told us it could have been that home made beer she had been drinking.
Ok raza keep it cool and keep your clothes on.

Kingsville,tx Hello once again y como estan todos? Hello I am bill Diaz now for our barrio headline news:
Several new homes are being building where the old wells street was,
Several old homes are being knocked down on Wells Street, just in case,
And finally building permits are being question by real city officials.
Yesterday after noon a warrant was issued for our side of the tracks BARRIO’S UNAUTHORIZED TAX COLLECTOR (a position, please note must be willing to take a bite once in awhile, and as long he promise to do what the bite was about, really.) henry Alvarado Montana, age 56.
We are really not certain que the warrant says about mr montana, pero we heard que it might be que esta vato might have gone across the tracks to collect from some raza that moved over there, without the bit of the month. Somehow someone told them que the barrio tax, it didn’t count over here, so they called the cops. The report says que etsa montana la puso el doddge and wang was gone in a second. So the real cops are looking for him over here to talk con el. We think it has to do con the building permits of all those new homes, which brings us to our next story,
The city has stopped all construction at south third and warriors street. It seems que since the city closed this street about twenty years ago, many of the old home owners relatives have declared the abandon city street their front lawns for their home all along this abandon street for at least twenty years.

Oh but some good news, the city has decided to get ready and knock down some old homes and make new room for those that are getting ready to be run off the city abandon street now them folks call front yard.. pess hejola.

exclusive interview con dennise lopez 2011

Exclusive interview con Dennise Lopez, 2011.
Cchwnn.
Baytown, Texas. Hello again, Santa Cecilia la que te canta and am I glad to be back in tejas, after that long ride from The Land of Oz, Kansas. But today our creator takes me to meet up con wow this great looking woman, Dennise Lopez, but enough of that, let¡¦s get to that interview.
SC: hello dear how are you and can you help me get off this bicycle?
DL: Oh Wow *hello there* Let me get that for you. There we go, maybe I will give you a ride on my moped after the interview lol ha ha :) and I am doing GREAT! I appreciate you traveling so far to talk to me...you must have some great legs!
SC: I sure do, do you mind if I can sit down also, let¡¦s start by asking how did you get into la onda tejana?
DL: Well I was born and raised here and I grew up listening to what used to be 106.5 KQQK. It was all Tejano all the time, I enjoyed La Mafia, Los Palominos, Jennifer Pena, Selena (of course), and so many others. I started doing small gigs in the Houston area singing different genres from rancheras, latin, to grupero, and tejano of course. My favorite crowds are my tejano crowds... we love to dance, we love to party, and the vibe and the atmosphere are just awesome. I love to entertain and just put on a good show. I have been able to network and get more contacts and I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been given so far. I love that we can jam to Tejano music and I throw in a ranchera at times and the crowd likes it.

SC: when you were a child, did you ever think that you were going to be a tejana star?
DL: I have always been a dreamer and I still dream big, I used to watch Selena videos and I felt like I was there. She filled stadiums and touched so many people to this day she is still an all time favorite. I dreamed of winning awards and I want to make music that means something, that people can relate to or always remember. It hasn't exactly been easy and there have been times where I have told myself that maybe this was just that, a dream. I did not have the support of my family when I decided to pursue my dreams and its hard to even start period. You only live once so I decided a few years back that this is something worth fighting for. The experience and the feeling of being on stage is what I want and what I want to do is sing. I have a great team supporting and pushing me to give my all and live the moments.

SC: how hard is it to put one of your performances, in terms of music and selection of songs, wardrobes?
DL: LOL! My manager is going to get up for this one and answer "VERY STRESSFUL!!" Lol! I wouldn't say it¡¦s hard to put on a performance because I truly enjoy it, and I work and practice for a good show. It takes more commitment, dedication, and just passion. Your goal is to get people into the music and into the performance. My manager gets huge credit for this because my wardrobe would be a hot mess and the music selection would probably not be all that great lol. We work as a team and we work on each performance from A-Z, from start to finish daily to prepare for the next event. I have learned so much from seeing others perform and self critique from my videos helps me try harder or try to push for being better. There is always room for improvement and I grow and take in more with each gig. I had Promesa Mortal with me for Fan Fair this year and it was fun to practice and prepare, but the outcome was even better. I really enjoyed the moment and we all had a great time.

SC; not to get personal, but I notice you like to wear black, is there a reason for that?
DL: *sucking stomach in* Well thanks for calling it out and putting me on the spot there lol. It's no secret that black makes one look thinner and with the ten lbs the camera adds (plus them tacos), I need all the help I can get LOL. Not to mention black goes with everything and it gives me the edgy look I like. I try to change it up but there is always something on a hanger calling my name and it just so happens to be black.

SC: if a young person asked you what does it take get into the music business, what would you tell them?
DL: The most important thing, I always say is PASSION! Without passion for something you can't find that courage and the drive to overcome the obstacles you will encounter. You have to believe in yourself and you have to have a strong personality that won't let anyone bring you down. You do have to have an open mind and learn when to hold back and when you need to step up. Dreams do come true and its up t you to make things happen. I had the opportunity to speak to a few of our legendary tejano artists who advised me to be patient and to be strong for everything that comes with this difficult industry. You must work hard and self improvement is the key. Educate yourself, reach for the stars. Nobody is going to come knocking on your door, get out there and show yourself, network, promote yourself, be different. I remind myself all the time.

SC: I not sure if you are married or not but how hard is it for your family when you on the road most of the time?
DL: No No No! Lol! Not anytime soon for me. Well ok, I am married to la musica :) and that one I am not planning to ever divorce. As far as familia, the friends that support me day to day with everything I do is who I call family. It is unfortunate that I did not have the support of my parents, but I didn't let that get in the way of the way my dreams and my life and I have managed to live a good life thus far. I have my roadie and I make the best out of every experience and every place I go. BTW I love San Antonio.... relaxing, yet party atmosphere.

SC: what expectations/accomplishments have you met con your singing career up to now?
DL: Just being able to be known in the Houston surrounding area in such a short period of time has been amazing and now moving into the SA area. I recorded my 2 song cover demo and that felt like a huge accomplishment just because it was something I wanted to do forever and get the feel of being in a studio and it was something I worked and saved for to do. Growing on stage as well, if you see my videos from the time I started to now, you see a huge difference (there¡¦s always room to grow I know and have a lot to learn) from then to now. I hope to have a lot more towards the end of this year with opening for people to having my demo complete and who knows, maybe some offers from some record labels. ƒº (Scheduled to have Demo complete in June, stay tuned!) OH AND CAN¡¦T FORGET!! Being interviewed by YOU!!!! DUH! ƒº

SC: can list the names of different folks you have performed with or opened the show for?
DL: I have been a part of a few local shows and thanks to Jim Luna and Quartermoon Productions I was one of the opening acts for Little Joe and Ramon Ayala. I am scheduled to open up for Mingo Saldivar for Fiesta in San Antonio in April and I am very excited about that. I have been on tracks and performing with band Promesa Mortal has been just awesome and the support and the love we get from the the spectators make it even better.

SC: lots of young women have lots of peer pressures about certain things now days such as tattoos, boyfriends and relationships what are some of the cautious they should take in making sure the succeed , in their lives?
DL: You are in charge of your own life and your decisions. It's up to you to make it a successful one no matter what it is that you really want to do. Live for yourself, learn to be independent and you will only have regrets if you don't try. Don't quit doing what you love for someone, if that someone loves you they will push you to keep going with or working for what you want. Always set goals for yourself and remember that it¡¦s okay to be single if you have something you want to focus on in life. I am focused and I feel that I wouldn't be able to balance and give my all at this point in my life. For those successful women that are able to do this, hats off to you my ladies. Always think long and hard, remember that decisions and actions you make today can make the difference for the rest of your life for better or for worse. I have a lot of faith in God and I know that he has guided me and has put the important people in my life here for a reason. You also might want to think twice (3X's) about putting your boyfriends name on your body... it¡¦s easy to drop the guy but not the tattoo. LOL

SC; and finally what is in the future for Denise Lopez?
DL: Well since you ask... Grammies, Grammies, and more Grammies! Just kidding, but hey one or two or more wouldn't hurt anyone o si? My goal is to make and transmit great music that makes memories and brings back memories for fans and followers. I want to continue to perform and put out my demo soon so people will know more about me and I hope to get a record label to back me up and put me on the right track.

SC: gee Denise we want to thank you for your time in doing this interview, and can you please give a hand getting on this bicycle and which way is the freeway?
DL: No thank you for traveling all the way to Baytown on your bike. I am actually on my way to the mall to shop for my next outfit, (thinking of white for one day and brown the next, trying to get out of the black since you pointed it out LOL) so if you need a ride hop on (I have an extra helmet) lol. If not, you have my number in case you get a flat or something. Mira, the freeway esta *looking around* that way, or is it that way?? No no it¡¦s over there lol sorry.

SC : gee that is so sweet, let me hop on tha¡K.t moped on that ,,, gee this is a small moped,,,,,as I ride down hill as fast as I can , I just wonder when will the chain fall off con la onda, never. I am Santa Cecilia.

Kingsville, texas. Como estan I am Maria la Vandia con today’s award winning barrio headline news, oh Bill is on vacation.
Increase of barrio scams ruins lots of dreams.
Barrio populations increased by 2 percent ever nine months.
And finally sex can hurt your heart.
Believe it or not ten barrio members have passed away within the last two years due to having sex and not being in shape. A barrio study shows que lots of folks just can’t just into sex and expect not to get hurt. The author of this new study and book, told us it’s like running. You just can jump into it without being prepared. The author also gave us a few tips on how to prevent a heart attack during sex. But for that you have to buy the book, “How to have sex without having a heart attack ” now being sold at your local flea market.
Barrio leaders are more worried than ever due to the fact que ever nine months it seen an increase of 2 percent populations for the last five years. A barrio leader told us que it could be several things such as that new cable company and its 24 hours services and also those 1958 Christmas lights that were insulted several years ago. All this factors are to blame for this increase of our Westside population.
Yesterday afternoon, about ten barrio families, two barrio doctors, three lawyers and about twenty cats were informed que their small investment was a scam that ruined lots of dreams for those above. The scam was if they help purchase into developing a multi dollar sky hook that could hold things in mid air, would have changed the whole world on how it holds things in the sky. Charged with this scam are Benny Montes, Brain Woods, Henry Forrest and Mike Pasture were all charged with this scam.
Ok raza have a great day and remember hug your tejano friend.

Kingsville,tx. Once again I am Bill Diaz con our award winning barrio headline news:
Barrio air show was a success.
No word on the shooting of Jonathon Barrio.
And finally, barrio youth baseball programs start this week.
Our park and recreation officers informed us que this week was the opening of youth baseball season for 2011. He wanted to inform all the parents que they need to act like their age out in the park. The park staff will not tolerate any misconducts by players, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends, coaches, managers, bill collectors, drunks, gays, single persons, and who ever goes by the games. So if you can not act your age, don’t go to the games.
El constable has not opened the mall for the last three days due to the fact que they were still investigating the shooting of Jonathon Barrio late Friday afternoon. Up to now they have no leads to why and who shot him.
This weekend our barrio air show was held and it was a very successful event says one of the organizers, Bill Chavez. Si senor, we had about 15 home made planes and all the owners and the crowd were great. Oh by the way Mr. Chavez told us que he wanted to let all the plane owners que his staff found several air plane parts and if any plane was missing a part to please call him up.
Ok raza have a great tejano day.

barrio stock market report for 03182011.
Cchwnn.
Kingsville,tx.Now from that storage office at the Westinghouse barrio mall here is our man con all the answers to your barrio investments, and mucho mass here is urbano yosabatodo.
Como estan todos? As we approach the end of the first quarter of the year, things really haven’t been that bad. Besides the gas increase, the IRS looking for me, two car payments behind, one-month rent and breaking that lent problems in less than 24 hours. Shoot things could be a bit worse. Like we have said many times before, hey what is life all about? Its about owe money to other people. You know in Spanish we have a saying that says without debts we wouldn’t have anything. Well let’s use that slogan as our policy for the rest of the year.
Now lets talk about the barrio stock market.
Los taquitos, for the end of this quarter los taquitos are the leading contenders for this year’s best investment. Since many have readied our report and have decided to start buy more taquitos than to make then at home. Like we reported several weeks ago que we need to spend more money in small hood restaurants, just to keep them afloat. Los taquitos remain stable at $ 1.25 each. Of course a big city will offer you twice as much but not as good, huh?

Las tortillas, a brand new tortilla brand hit the local stores and the hood this week. The company Las Tortillas De Hood, is own and operated and is a Internet-based, consumer marketplace, licenses factory, and also provides consumer contents published for your convinces by some shady rear end folk. Their reprehensive stopped by the last week, named John homes. Up to now we have not been able to locate the company on the net but he did give us some free packages of tortillas just last week.

We here and you there, are also here to serve you as a consumer advocate and feel que we need to keep track of all those that come into the hood and try to sell stuff that we don’t need or meet our quality of standards. And folks this new company does not do that for us, and we have tried their tortillas, and rated them poorly on this product. Them tortillas stick like cake and when you heated them up, my god the grew twice as big. Las tortillas took a dive with this new company under price their product by .50 cent a dozen. Out doing all the rest at the end of this quarter. Tortillas ended the week at $1.25 per package.

Las empanadas, Represents the change from one year to the next in their product. It seems que many empanada companies have including but not limited to the decrease the filling in them. Yet, many companies have increase in inventories and have had an increase in accrued sales and huge increase in accruals as reported in the cash flow statement found in many company’s trash cans that we scout. What does this mean? Que estos pincha vatos are selling more con less filling inside de las empanadas. The price went up this week at .65 cents each. Again we will never ever again see them at four for a dollar.

Los tamales, wow what can I say, like we say they are not a seasonal thing anymore and now con esta cold weather, Sell me a dozen to go. What can I say about tamales, only that they are packets of corn dough with a savory or sweet filling and typically wrapped in cornhusks? The packets are steamed and eaten traditionally served with a tall glass of cold beer. Many consumers have complaint to us que on the contrary to what is found in most American-Mexican restaurants, most tamale are not served with a sauce, but rather simple and plain. Yes sir plain and dry. Las tamales remain stable for the end of this quarter at $5.00 a dozen; .50 cents lower than last year at this time.

La baracoa de beef head. We got a real big treat this week from a friend of ours, J>P> weeks dropped by yesterday a shared a story with us on how to BAKED BEEF Head. He said that From: The Only Texas Cookbook, Texas Monthly Press, 1981 By: Linda West Elkhart. Here J>P> tells us que John Casey tells him the South Texas ranchers had some help from Mexicans when it came time to butcher. The Mexicans taught them how to make use of the entire animal. They would take a steer or heifer head, skin it, salt and pepper it, wrap it in several sacks of wet burlap. Dig a deep hole. Line the hole with rocks made hot by a roaring campfire. Put the head in. Cover it with a thin layer of dirt. Then pour on more hot rocks and dirt until the whole thing was covered. They would come back 18 or 20 hours later, dig the head up, unwind the burlap, pull out the tongue, hit the skull with an ax, and eat the brains, the tongue, everything.

Casey says it’s a real treat. This meat-in-a-hole method is an old trick. Sometimes it doesn't work out. They were having a huge barbecue in the Panhandle recently one of those public celebrations where they killed 7 or 8 animals and meant to barbecue them all. Well, you can imagine how this story went. The Caterpillars were driven in to dig a huge pit. The barbecue man laid his fire, got it just right, put in all this meat, covered it up. Came back in 24 hours with 20,000 hungry people behind him, dug it up, and discovered the fire had gone out. He had lots of beans, lots of cole slaw, and lots of rotting meat in a hole. No wonder some cooks turn to drink.

With that in mind easy on the fat, I will take a pound of it to go. La barbacoa ending this quarter on a high note, going at $6.00. A dollar jump from last week.

And finally cheap beer. Well folks what can I say. Just in our hood there is three stores and ever-freaky store has different prices. We buy at the best deal. Cheap beer remain stable for the quarter at $4.65 a six pack.

From my office at the storage units on the third floor of the Westinghouse barrio mall. I am Urbano Yosabatodo. Good day.

Kingsville,tx. Hi I am Gloria Guerre con today’s barrio awarding winning headline news:
Barrio store sets open and close record.
Increase of home and business fire this year.
And finally new business burns down.
Last year we only had three fires in the hood and one didn’t even count due to the fact que it was a dog house. Barrio officials are a bit worried that this quarter alone el barrio has had at least seven home fires and at least 2 businesses have burned down. One barrio official was quoted saying que there might be a fire bug in the hood that we need to keep an eye on.
Like we mention yesterday que chingos de complaints were filed against our ad about that old barrio shoe company named “Barrio Sandal Stripes” , that mention que if you bought a pair you could out run a horse, a tank, and even a camel. Well that store closed its doors with a recording opening and closing in less than ten minutes. It’s a record here in the hood.
And finally, talking about fires, the new “ Barrio Huaracha Footwear” burned down last night after it had opened its door for a few hours. Several people were seen jogging from the places as it blazed out of control. Los vato’s loco’s volunteers fire fighters con not maintain the blaze con its 7 buckets of water. County and city official are really concern now this business burned down. Mr. Patel the new owner of the place told us que I will find that sons of witches. He was asked not to take the law under his hands nor to bring his camel into the city limits looking for those who burned his place down.
Well raza there you have it and have a great day.

At the beach somewhere, texas. Hello again raza I am Bill Diaz con our award winning barrio headline news. But before we get too it, I want to thank Alcardio, Santa Cecilia and the rest of our staff for doing a heck of a job this week and last night barrio music awards for 2011. But for now ,lets get too those headlines>
Small riot at the end of Barrio awards.
Fight at after party for barrio award winners.
And finally, barrio community center looking for volunteers to clean.
It didn’t take long for shit to hit the fan when the curtains went down last night at our barrio music awards show. It seems que Lil Red was in attendances and so were the 4 mariachi dudes and their wives, as we all know by now que this group broke up a few months ago and some still are pissed at lil red. Anyhow somehow one of the 4 dude wife threw a bottle of beer at Lil Red but was able to duck before it hit her, but in steady it hit the women standing besides lil Red. Before we knew it a small riot occurred, where lots of bottles y chino de chigaso. Several persons were arrested. Oh by the way, what happen to lil Red?
Sometimes you just can’t please everybody, and that was the case at the after party for the award winners. It seems que some of the none winner’s crashed the party and many felt que some of those party crashed had to leave. When some of the guess and non invited started pushing and hitting , it just got out of control. Before we knew it says Santa Cecilia some people had already rush the food table and start throw stuff around. At end of this Malay the food fight had to come to an end because there wasn’t anything else to throw. 18 persons were arrested.
And finally, the directors of our barrio cruz rojo community center let us know que they were looking for a few good men and women to help clean up the mess that was left over from last night unannounced food fight occurred. There will be no paid but you can keep what ever you find on the floor. He also informed us que it has to be today, before the roaches get back in town from their spring break.

Ok raza have a great spring break and watch the children, wax on and wax off.

Kingsville,tx. Hello Maria La Vandia, bill is on spring break assignment. Now for our award winning barrio headline news:
Two tons of fun burns down.
Big women burn out sale.
And finally, big women wanted.
Last night los vato’s loca volunteer firefighters along con east side fire department tried their best to keep the night club Two Tons of from burning down to ground. By the time all the units got it going it was too late. Two Tons of fun burned down to the ground. As you might have already known que this bar was a strip bar where all the dancers weight more than 250 pounds. The owner did not say anything about rebuilding.
The woman’s dress shop that was next to two tons of fun bar are having a burn out of business sale this coming weekend. The owner told us que they did not have insurances on the building never less the clothing. That is why we are having a Big Women Burn out sale. Everything must go and we got normal sizes from 15 to 28. Come and look around big girl , you might just find something that was not ruined fit you.
And finally, la prima Lucy Mendez, a graduate student at our barrio school for pendejos, is looking for women that weight around 250 to 400 pounds for a barrio study on “las commadres a right diet for you”. She is trying to determined if women use some illness to justified their weight problem or are they just plain big women. She is hoping to publish her report on some medical magazine.

Ok raza got to go.

Exclusive interview con Paradize Band, 2011.
Cchwnn.
Topeka, Kansas. Hi I am Santa Cecilia la que te canta con on the road again interviews. This week my creator esa vato that thinks he knows everything has send walking to Topeka, Kansas to meet up con a Tejano, R&B,and Country band named Paradize band. Let us get to that interview now?
Sc: hello Ray Ortega, I wonder if you can help me get off my feet, it sure was a long walk here?

Ray: I’m glad you made it through the snow and cold. Sandals don’t work huh?

SC: how does it feel to be a conjunto band out of Topeka, Kansas?
Ray: Actually we are a Tejano Horn Band and we do perform conjunto music along with a variety of music.

SC: how did you guys get into la onda tejano?
Ray: Our Dad was a musician so there was always music around the house so being surrounded by music it was inevitable for us not to follow. Musicians were always around playing in the early morning hours at our house during the weekends. I being the oldest started with Tejano music after my Dad had gone to see Little Joe and The Latinaires and came home with the” Por Un Amor” album and Little Joe and The Latinaires “On Tour” album. My brothers all followed thereafter in music.

SC: tell us a bit about your band and family involvement?
Ray: Paradize Band’s history began in 1976 under the name of La Familia Mexicana and was started by my brothers Arthur and Steve Ortega. It is horn based band and we grew up performing American music also so we basically added Tejano, R&B, Funk, Country, Blues and variety of music. We have 4 brothers in the group: Arthur, Roger, Steve and I and we have 2 friends also Ray Ayala and Tony Vargas. We grew up in the Oakland community of Topeka, Kansas, a block away from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and school, which we all attended. We give back to the community whenever we have the opportunity and to the Cancer Hospice Organization as well as others. Our parents always instilled in us to give back to the church and the school and the community.

SC: who were some of your major influences de la onda tejana?
Ray: Little Joe of course was one of our main influences along with Alfonso Ramos, Ruben Ramos, Tortilla Factory, Latin Breed, Royal Jesters, Big Lu & Los Muchachos, Carlos Landin, Carlos Guzman, Richard Rodriguez and The Blue Notes, Sunny Ozuna, Jimmy Edwards and countless others.

SC: do you know la family Ruiz’s de Topeka?
Ray: Yes, they are my wife’s cousins and we’ve known all of them for years.

SC: what is the future of la onda tejana in the mid west?
Ray: The future is bright here in the Midwest; there are so many great groups around the surrounding areas and Tejano music is well received here in the Midwest. We have a couple of radio stations that play Tejano music: KKFI 90.1-Fiesta Musical and Taste of Tejano so we do hear many of the latest music here in the Midwest.
SC; do we see a recording contract in the near future?
Ray: Funny you would mention that, we just finished our new CD- Paradize Band” Past Due” and it will be available through Tejano Music Headquarters and I think, Janie’s Records and it has already had some airplay on BNET, Picante Radio and Chicano Express Radio(Crazy Chuy) as well as California, Phoenix and Ohio and Kansas City. We’ll take one day at a time and see what direction God leads us.

SC: has the mid west weather every stopped you from getting to a gig?
Ray: In 35 years of performing and traveling in and out of state there has been only one time I can recall that we were unable to get to a performance. It was about 8 hours away and it snowing and sleeting and they closed the highway because of the weather and hazardous conditions and we couldn’t make the gig. We have been through tornadoes, thunderstorms, sleet, ice and mechanical problems. Most bands can understand what we go through because they have pretty much gone through the same thing. Thank God we made it all safely.

SC: which other groups have you shared the stage with en la onda tejana?

Ray: Eddie Gonzalez, Ruben Ramos and The Revolution, La Sombra, Joe Posada and many more that have slipped my mind. I use to know a lot when I had a memory.

SC: if given the opportunity to speak to a group of young people what encouraging words would you say?

Ray: Be all you can be, don’t follow the crowd. Be an individual and follow your dreams. Never take family for granted and have God as part of your life. Live for today because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring or what it will take away.

SC: how hard is it in selecting the material you play doing a performance?

Ray: It depends on the crowd, you have to read them and sometimes experiment to see what works or doesn’t work. We play such a variety of music that we usually have something that will appeal to the crowd besides our Tejano music. We have some very talented musicians and that amazes me sometimes how we can just put together a song we have never played before and make it work.

SC: and finally what would like to share with your fans all over the world?
Ray: We hope they enjoy the new CD and be sure you support Tejano music and Tejano bands from all over the USA, we are working to do our best for you, our fans.

SC: again thank you sir and can you get me on my feet and point which is south?
Ray: I would tell to click your heels, three times and wish you were back home but you would probably slip on the ice and break your cumbia shaker so head south until you run out of snow. On behalf of Paradize Band: Arthur, Roger, Steve, Ray, Tony and I, Thank you for the interview-God Bless You…

Kingsville,tx. Hello again I am Alcardio Samudio, Bill is on a spring break assignment. But for now here is our award winning barrio headline news:
Two houses evaluated after car crash.
Several forks arrested at the corner of third and wells.
And finally, car blow up and killing trained staff person.
38 people living in two homes were asked to leave their homes due to the fact que a car accident in front of their home and could present some danger to them. It seems que one of the cars was operated by some homemade fuel que the local authorizes were sure what chemicals were used to make it and didn’t want to take any chances. Residents are being asked not to hang out anywhere close to the corner of wells and Thirds Street.
After an public emergency notice had been issued to Westside residents not to go by the corner of third and wells street, 15 curios folks were arrested as they gathered and cross the yellow ribbon that said “ don’t cross this line moron” to take a better look at the car that was reported being operated by some homemade fuel. El constable used his bull horn to yell at them from three blocks away telling them “to get away morons from the wreck”. After a few folks started to walk away, they were individually arrested by the barrio 666 task force.
And finally, As the constable and the vato’s volunteer firefighters used their modern day technology and not waiting for any professional assistance tired to remove one of the cars at the wreck scene, cause some drag that developed some sparks that caused one of the cars to explored and killing the vato’s only train cat and wounding several other cats that were there checking out the wreck. Barrio stock market report for 03112011
Cchwnn.
Kingsville,tx. (sitting outside my backyard barbequing deer meat) hello once mi raza I am Urbano
Yosabatodo con this week’s barrio stock market report. Well as you can read we have cut down on the
consumption of real meat and started on our supplies or shall I say our endless supply of this season
deer meat. Its good to know folks that love to hunt and hate to waste food. But what is the bigger
problem here is that large meat processors have decide to pass the charge for the cost of BSE testing of
cattle over the next 48 months. This has really has sparked anger among farming industry, especially the
smaller liverstock markets. Pancho Panco the owner of la nueva vida meat markets ( 5 of them_) tells us
que He was disappointed that the cost is now being passed directly to the primary producer and that
the government will no longer paid for this testing. At the last public hearing our man pancho panco
said “"We have long argued for greater transparency, sustainability and simplicity within red meat
Marketing and firmly believe any additional costs such as these are costs of production and, as a result,
Should be factored into the price paid to the producer and that the price a farmer receives at an
Abattoir or auction market should be the actual price he receives and no further deductions should be
Taken off the invoice."
Putting all this aside the sound of using llama meat is getting more attention says el jefe de las llamas
farm, mr. modesto Rubio. I told you guys it was a matter of time. But with all this I think we need to get
to our award winning barrio stock market report:
Los tamales took a slight jump on price from $5.50 dollars a dozen to $6.00 dollars. Like we say que it looks like los tamales are back at holiday prices already this quarter of the year.
Los taquitos were pretty stable, until we found a new taco stand in the hood at $1.39 each, with no specials. Looking good. Much closer to our home.
Las empanadas are back at 2005 prices $ .59 cent each and no site of 4 for a dollar in the future. But we are worried about those pre packed found on those services stations along the freeway, not fresh at all.
Cheap beer, Cheap beer remains stable at $4.65 a six-pack. Regardless how a beer company designs the can it’s still good.
Las flour tortillas at a $1.29 a dozen. I am more than sure que there is lots of different companies that might be cheaper but since we are make believe we will not use any particular brands. Corn remain stable.
La barbacoa by the pound is starting out at $6.00 lbs and make sure to ask que not too much salt or manteque. In other words easy on the grease.
Barrio want ads:
#025654- women clothing for sale, all sizes, make bid for the whole lot.
#006659- old car and truck tires for sales. Some only flat in the bottom, make offer for all ten tires.
#005894- used computers, some work and some do work , make offer for the whole lot. Make offer for the ones that work.
Barrio realtors report:
Again, that ocean front property is for sale in palito blanco,tx. It is about 40 miles west from the ocean. You will have a great view about 2 miles from the ocean. Make offer.
Have a great spring break.

Kingsville,Texas como estan, I am Lewis mojo Lewis with the dark side barrio award winning headline news:
Three soul brothers get award than busted.
Hot wings and sweet potatoes stolen at the corner of wells and third street.
And finally, cops shot three mariachi dudes.
Please note that the three mariachi dudes are not the members of the four mariachi dudes band. But the cops did shoot three mariachi dudes in the dark as they came around the dark corner of the trailer home. The police confuse them with a bunch of terrorist in the hood and opened fired on them, Charges are pending.
A truck driving through town stopped at the corner of third and wells restaurant for a bit. While the driver was inside he noticed several cars and one pick up park next to his rig. As soon as he walked out of the diner, he noticed that several buckets of sweet potatoes and a box of hot wings were missing. There was not one single witness, nor traces of who ripped him off. The constable is seeking our help in napping those robbers.
It seems that the three Marks Bros, Johnnie Marks, Juan Marks, and Julio Marks were all given an award for saving several cats and downs from drowning a few weeks so the mayor decided to give them an award. But things can changes within days, and that is the case here. When all the brothers stood up to get their award, several federal dudes picked them up as soon as they got ready to leave the event. The charges were not shared with anyone at the event.
Well there you have it raza.

Kingsville, TX. Hello again I am Bill Diaz con today’s award winning barrio headline news:
Oldest married couple divorces in 3 days.
Barrio fire injured 3 real firemen.
And finally, an increase of barrio members attending higher education institutions.
Yesterday afternoon Pablo Lopez the director of our local higher education institution told us que more and more raza were going to college and vocational institutions. We are so proud of many of the older students trying to improve their educational skills and knowledge but for sure there are a few exceptions.
A five bucket alarm fire was called at the corner of third and wells where a local moving taco stand was on fire. Three firemen were injured when they tried to release the horse that pulled the taco stand, away from the blazing taco stand. Not knowing que the owner of the taco stand had a gallon of gasoline inside the taco stand. Why would anyone carry a gallon of gasoline inside his business asked the supervisor of los three injured firemen? The owner replied que he was going to cut someone grass after he closed the stand down for the day. Charges will be filed. Oh by the way los vato’s loco volunteer firefighters did not respond due to the fact que the fire was during the day.
It seems that love was in the air for a three days ended up in divorces yesterday afternoon. It just didn’t seem right dating this long and wanting to get married, we must have been crazy. Pablo Sanchez, 89 and Maria Garza, 87 had been dating since junior high back then and for some sudden reason wanted to make it legal. Well they did and it didn’t turn out to be what we expected. The both decided to go their own ways.
Well raza have a great tejano day.

Kingsville,tx. Hi I am Bill Diaz con our award winning barrio headline news:
Barrio residents barracking for cut backs in the hood.
Empanada union works go on strike,
And finally barrio family arrested for barbequing in the wrong place.
Yesterday was the barrio cook off where chingos de families and their pits showed up for the our annual barrio cook off. Some family arrived late and set up their pits, tents, and everything else that comes along con a barbeque across the street from the fest. The owners of the property had place signs along its landing posting a no trespassing but it seems que someone removed the signs and indications show que some of the wood signs were used as fire wood. A bunch of families were asked to remove themselves from the property or else. Well some of the families took the else. El constable arrested about 10 family members, 3 cats, and about 15 dogs. All are pending charges.
Yesterday at the largest empanada factory works went on strike after they heard que the union could no longer represent them at the empanada factory. La Empanada Union 101, represents about 10 or more workers in the county that work at empanada plants. This move by the owners is just a way to cut down on wages and benefits for its employee’s and their families. The union will picket the all three plants in the county until this matter is solved.

It was announced que 15 barrio Westside residents will get their red slips today on an effort to cut back on county 100 dollar deficient. One barrio leader told us que this cuts wouldn’t really affect anyone besides the 15 persons waiting that bad news.

Well there you have it and have a great tejano day.

Another barrio tree chopped down.
Two men and a woman busted at flower shop.
And finally, another barrio member get’s his or her GED.
Relatives and friends of Rosanna Banana were so happy que she finally got her GED, after trying to get that diploma for 35 years. She was so excited que she suffered a minor heart attack and was rush to St Paul’s medical center and later released. The party still when on and most of the 75 folks there went over to the medical center to check on her, but had already been released. Just for the record no hide or hair has been seen for Rosanna, some family members are a bit worried but one of her cousins assured us que anda en el pido.
If things weren’t so bad now a days, I think this wouldn’t have happen. It seems que three customers were arrested yesterday at the only flower shop in the hood, flowers by roy when they tried to steal 35 yellow roses, 53 other types of flowers by placing them inside a baby carriage. If our boy Roy had now been watching them from get go, them folks might have got away with it.
Yesterday several barrio trees were not their when the barrio park and recreations workers returned to trim them say Ponce De Leeon. Yea, we were trimming them trees and took a break, and the next thing we knew, them trees gone. City and county officials are now worried about some many trees being chopped down this month. Especially, that one that was chopped down two weeks ago.;Which was one of the oldest trees in county. A barrio investigation will be conducted con el constables office and park official.
Thak raza and there you have it for today, make sure a buy a ticket for our event coming May 13.

Main barrio street close for repairs.
First barrio symphony schedule to perform.
And finally go up on everything.
We were just informed que the cost of everything was going to go up now and maybe forever, says our barrio representative Juan Pistolas, Si raza keep a tight look at your wallet porque its going to be mor empty than it has ever been.
The first ever barrio symphony has published its spring schedule that will include several performances at the Westinghouse barrio mall and some across the tracks. There will no cost to attend this performance but you will be required to bring your own beer.
Barrio members were informed this morning que major repairs were schedule all this week. Barrio engineer Tomas Sanchez told us que it was going to take about three or more days to paint the cross walks on our main street. Some businesses have complained que closing the main street to paint the cross walks when the city can paint one side of the street at a time, instead of closing down the whole street. City leaders will look into this matter at their next meeting.
Ok raza have a great day.
